This was my thought- the inability of Hawkins Byler to get their shit together causes ruptures across the universes and brings the many forms of Byler into Hawkins to sort that shit out for them.

Could also give it a meta flavour by saying the inability of Stranger Things to do the narrative justice by getting Byler together causes the ructions.

I think it could be fun! Tag the Byler variants I've missed, I know there will be some.
