It was safe to say you were bored beyond belief and on the verge of breaking down. Why did bad situations always seem to happen to you? Why did it always feel as though you were being singled out and targeted?
It wasn't fair. You shouldn't be trapped in a tent who knows where that didn't have any natural light and didn't open up to allow you out. You shouldn't be stuck in a room where only a cot and a now 1/3 full lamp were keeping you company.
You had sometimes dreamed about what you would do in a situation should you ever be kidnapped. You had thought you would be able to tough it out and be one of those fearless and daring female leads in the movies that were able to outsmart their captors and escape. You never thought you would be weak and helpless.
That acknowledgment and also the fact your captors weren't human was plaguing your mind and causing even more distress. Should you be able to leave the tent in the first place your escape wouldn't end there. Likely you were in some restricted area so you would be caught, possible harmed for revolting/acting out, and then placed back into a new cell, one that was likely even harder to escape from.
Despite your will you tears start to creep their way into your eyes, slowly blurring your vision before falling, leaving small water trails that gradually picked up speed until they were plopping into your lap at a rather quick rhythm.
You felt weak and useless. As though nothing you did from this point on would be of any use. Your limbs felt heavy, like 40 pound weights just hanging, forcing your shoulders down. Lifting them to wipe away your tears would be too much so you opted to just letting them hang.
Your head felt like a large rock, the weight and strain of holding it up was growing to be too much.
You should move around or at least attempt to get yourself out of this slump but you just couldn't bring yourself to do anything.
You were slowly losing your mind and nobody cared.
Everyone had suspicions about the Circus and yet nobody complained to the mayor or asked the police to attain a warrant and check anything out. No, everyone just watched silently and then later gossiped and accused.
So that leaves you stuck here for however long they decided to keep you.
You wondered if Harlequin noticed you had disappeared. Wondered if he even cared. He likely didn't and had been leading you on the whole entire time. Playing with your emotions and using you for his entertainment.
Perhaps he was already aware of your kidnapping. If he was you wondered what reaction he had.
Did he laugh at the fact you were kidnapped, torn away from the comfort of your house in the middle of the night by one of his kind? Did he snicker and smirk as he considered the reaction you had upon such an event taking place.
Did he collude with Pierrot about this? Perhaps give him pointers and information regarding your habits so it would be easier to steal you away?
Did he know where you were hidden and just waiting for you to continue growing more and more desperate to be saved before swooping in last second like your prince of shining armor so that you would fawn over him.
Did he himself kidnap you just for the pleasure of betraying your trust?
Was he unaware of such an event taking place and currently looking all over for you. Was he desperate to see you and hold you.
You almost laughed aloud at the absurdity of that happening.
Why would Harlequin care about what happened to you. You were nothing but a toy for him to play with until he eventually grew tired and discarded you.
Resting your face into your hands you stuck to just staring at the ground, doing your best not to go insane.
Harlequin was going on a rampage within the Circus, tearing everything in his sight down and slicing any fool who was stupid enough to come into contact with him.
He couldn't smell your scent. It was only by the entrance that he could, anywhere else it was gone.
Had they purposefully done this. Was this their revenge for what happened with her? With the one he was forced to kill so that they could all survive? Was this their cruel revenge?
He felt himself losing his rationality as he returned to destroying everything. His usually clothed talons were out on full display as he sliced everything with them, spraying fabric, blood, and chunks of meat and bone as he went.
Vaguely he heard and saw the other members of his troupe coming out but he couldn't tell what exactly they were doing. Nor did he care when he laid his bloodshot eyes on Pierrot.
From an outside perspective Harlequin looked as though he were an actor, playing as the villain in a hyper realistic horror movie. The organs and bits and pieces of human flesh and bone staining his usually spotless green and black jester costume nor did the blood that was pouring from his clothes helping to refute that observation.
The fact that his eyes were pinpoints and vibrating from his anger didn't help either. His eyes appeared to be glowing as well, leaving little trails of neon green light. His mouth was hidden, no longer showing on his mask, and a dark shadow was cast over the top half of his face.
When he would move the bells on his hat would chime lightly, conveying a softness that was misleading given his menacing appearance.
By his sides his fingers were twitching, every now and then lashing out and destroying something in their wake.
He looked, in simple terms like a monster.
When he made eye contact with Pierrot everything went black.
And then it was as though he were watching himself from an outside perspective.
Watching as he suddenly disappeared and then reappeared right in front of Pierrot. Watching as he began attacking the said monster, repeatedly punching and clawing and kicking. Scratching him deep through his skin, piercing past skin muscle and tissue, carving right down to bone. Flaying off strip after strip of Pierrot's body.
He didn't stop even as his own body was cut and carved up. Didn't even stop when he felt daggers piercing his arms and chest. Didn't stop even as the other members began stepping in. Not caring if he hurt the others, realizing that they knew Pierrot had taken something that belonged to him and yet done nothing to stop him nor told Harlequin of the matter.
His anger led him to repeatedly pulverize Pierrot, not wanting to stop until the said guy was nothing but blood on the ground for him to stomp on and spit at.
With a burst of strength Harlequin tackled Pierrot and immobilized his limbs with his body and tentacles before grabbing Pierrot's head and repeatedly bashing it in, not stopping even as Pierrot's body grew limp.
No he went on and on and on until finally the other members were able to restrain him, but it wasn't easy.
No, by the time Harlequin was immobilized himself, all the members had pretty serious wounds that would've needed immediate treatment had they been humans.
Harlequin continued thrashing about in his confinements snarling insults at each of the members, gnashing his teeth as he fought for escape.
Harlequin's tone offered no room for any arguments or retorts. He was livid, even more so considering he was now tied up.
When he wasn't answered he began fighting his restraints harder, scaring the others as he began making progress.
"I'll kill all of you once I'm free if you don't tell me right now"
His threat seemed to snap the others out of their shock as they traded looks with one another.
After what felt like an eternity but was really no more then 30 seconds or so Jester sighed before stepping forward.
His posture and facial appearance give him the look of an unbothered man, an appearance that would've kidded the ones around him if not for the blood that was dripping from several open wounds along his ripped costume.
Within mere seconds of your location being revealed, Harlequin was out of his bonds and gone.
He would get you out of your prison and keep you close to him from this point on. Never again would he allow you to fall victim to the cruelty of his troupe members.
No, from no on he would keep you close to him, he would protect you and keep you away from any and all possible threats to your safety.
Just hold on a few moments longer Y/N,
