Disney veteran animator, Eric Goldberg, handles a Simpsons couch gag, and I think it’s pretty good!  Lovely expressive animation (something sadly missed since the show’s transition to HD and the upcoming split from Film Roman) I love the fact that everyone groans when they revert back to their normal selves. 

Anyway, Goldberg’s first big animation supervising role was handling the frenetic Robin Williams-voiced Genie in Aladdin (1992) and later Phil the faun in Hercules (1997).  Goldberg since freelanced, working on a number of Warner Bros. projects (the better animated Tom and Jerry straight-to-video movies) but is now supervising animator back at Disney again - I believe he’s handling Maui for the upcoming (at the time of writing this) Oceanic movie, Moana. 

Regardless of whether the main episode this couch gag belongs to is good or bad (subject to opinion of course!), I think it’s very nice seeing guest couch gags that are nicely animated, make sense and best of all, get to the point without taking up 5 minutes of the show!
