Do people at the strip club not realize the actual value of a dollar??

Let’s go on a little journey back in time. The year is 1970. Strip clubs are now accessible to many. A custom begins: tipping dancers for taking their clothes off. And so the custom begins. LETS KEEP IN MIND THAT THE VALUE OF THE DOLLAR AT THAT TIME WAS $6.10.

So, tell me, why is it still customary to tip a single dollar and expect the world?? You know what I can buy for a dollar?? An app, a song on iTunes (sometimes), perhaps a bottle of travel shampoo.

You know what a dollar would buy in 1970? A gallon of gas in some states, a full meal (burger, fries, drink)…..

A dollar is nothing for my labor. Why does nobody understand this??!! Why do they ask what I’ll do for a dollar?? The answer is: take it, and hope it adds up!!

“Private [sex] workers in Queensland are not subject to mandatory health testing although, like brothel workers, they (and their clients) are required by statute to use prophylactics. Research suggests that private workers are more vulnerable to violence because they must work largely on their own if they are to work legally. The advertising of their services is also subject to significant control by the PLA. Scarlet Alliance (the main national body of sex worker organizations) has recently commented on the ‘broad scale police harassment and criminal prosecutions of private workers’ in Queensland, particularly in relation to advertising. Private workers have been prosecuted for as little as advertisements containing the word 'services’ and some have been 'dragged to the police station in their sex work lingerie and charged with a criminal offence’. This sort of action - by the PLA and police acting in concert - is clearly part of a broader campaign to bring private workers more directly under state control. Moreover, it is a campaign facilitated by the reforms put in place in 1999 and development of new forms of cooperation between the PLA and police. As suggested above, the main aim of law reform in Queensland was to eliminate illegal prostitution and, in particular 'organized crime’. In this context, illegal brothels, street-based sex work, and escort agencies have been subject to vigorous criminalization. But private workers are also seen as potentially illegal (because they are 'uncontrolled’). They may, for example, be tempted to work in pairs and small groups (which can then be represented as 'organized crime’). Thus, much current policing has been focused on the entrapment of private workers by police(men) posing as clients and requesting two workers or requesting the provision of sexual services without a condom. Workers who agree to either of these proposals are liable to be arrested. It is notable that many of the cases that have come to court involve just two sex workers working together or a sex worker who engages a second person to monitor their safety. It is also worth remembering that historically, organized crime in Queensland has relied on - and been carried out by police.”
