I asked my five year old cousin what he would do if there was a scary skeleton and he said "I would pour water on it and then kick it" and I've been losing my shit laughing crying about a wet skeleton for about fifteen minutes straight
he was so delighted by my fits of giggles that he drew eight wet skeletons for me

A revamp of my 2022 Disco piece hehe
āNo one is coming to save you.ā I disagree ! I believe many people made up of many small moments come to save pieces of you , even if just briefly. The mentor who believed in you . The friend who said theyāre proud of you. The family member that makes you laugh . The random person who held the door for you out of nothing but kindness. The teacher who took extra time to help you understand. The person who smiled at you when you walked into a store. The little kid who looks up to you. The person who randomly complimented you. Being āsavedā isnāt about being whisked away and all your hardships gone, itās about the people and things that remind you life is not all hardships, it is kindness, love, gentleness, softness, care, thoughtfulness. It is many moments made up of your lifetime that keeps you going and showing you the world is still beautiful, and will always be. Despite.
Even if I didnāt have a solid plan, in the back of my head, I always assumed Iād kill myself.
Now Iām an adult and people my age have their lives in order and Iām stuck here, confused, because I never planned to be alive and Iām so far behind.
I feel like Iāll never catch up.
Hey all.
I want to make an addition to this. I made this post a long time ago.
Iām currently back in university, and Iāve made so much progress with my trauma. Iām in a loving relationship.
Things can and will get better. Itās not too late.
Nothing is perfect by any means. But Iām happy Iām still here and didnāt kill myself. I hope you get to that point, too š
The addition is important! I see the original post circulating a lot, but the addition is important!
New addition two years later. Iām still going strong!
Iām getting married. Iām still in that loving relationship.
Iāve learned that thereās no real timeline. Itās okay. And while it sucks that I lost time, thereās still so much for me to experience and enjoy.
Newest addition. 7 years after the original post!
I got married last month! My dog is laying on me snoring. Iāve learned to have healthy friendships and relationships. Iāve learned that Iām not alone and that even when things are hard, Iām going to be okay.
This showed up in my notes again. And here we are. 2026.
Iāve been married a little over two years. I just got home from friendships that feel like home and family. My husband and I have our own place. I have a full ass book ready to be published.
I donāt know. Iām still in a good place and I canāt believe how far Iāve come from my original post.
I donāt know if Iāve shared this on this blog before, but it feels like a good thing to share here.
These posts span about 9 years. (And just to clarify, traumasurvivors is my other blog.)
The year before my first post was the last time I ever tried to end my life. I genuinely almost died.
I remember realizing that, and something in me shifted. Not in a āeverything is magically better nowā way. Not even close. But I realized I didnāt want to be there anymore.
Iād been trying to end my life at least once a year since I was 18. I even tried when I was 12. So this wasnāt a small thing or a one-time thought. This was a pattern. A really painful one. And a couple of those attempts were really close calls.
And Iām not saying you can just decide to be okay. You canāt. But in that moment, I decided I wanted to try.
I wanted to try to be better. I wanted to try to learn how to handle my feelings. I wanted to try and fight the shit my brain was throwing at me all the time.
Iām not healed. Iām not perfect. I still have suicidal thoughts sometimes. But itās been 10 years since Iāve acted on them. And when they come up, Iām able to acknowledge them and understand they will pass. Instead of feeling dark all the time, I feel joy and love and hope. I can communicate in a healthy way. I can self soothe. I can ground myself and get out of spirals.
There was a moment where I chose to try instead of giving up. And I just want to share that itās possible. Itās possible for things to improve. Itās possible to build healthy coping skills and a life you want to live. I used to think it was bullshit when people said āit can get betterā, but from the other side of that now⦠it really can get better.
So, my wording from me 2020 reblog has been pointed out and I wanted to clarify.
This isnāt a āpromiseā things will get better. Itās an experience of mine and me sharing that to show there is hope and things donāt have to be doomed to be awful forever.
I did need to try. I had to want to try. I had to see hope in trying. And the hope is what Iām trying to share.
Iām sorry the wording wasnāt the best. Iāve grown a lot in the last 6 years from that point alone and Iāve learned to word things better for my blog posts.
Please donāt take my 2020 āit can and will get betterā as the message. My message really is what I shared in my reblog from my borderlinereminders reblog. And itās really just that thereās hope and in most cases, you need to want to try. And that it is worth trying.
And sure, you can say it might not be worth it because it doesnāt get better. But how Iāve always approached that line of thinking for myself is the time passes either way, I may as well try. Maybe that can help you too.
Even if I didnāt have a solid plan, in the back of my head, I always assumed Iād kill myself.
Now Iām an adult and people my age have their lives in order and Iām stuck here, confused, because I never planned to be alive and Iām so far behind.

the idea that women are "more allowed" to express emotions than men under patriarchy honestly seems like a lie that serves patriarchy itself.
women are constantly pressured to dissociate from the way our circumstances negatively impact us, and we are straight up not permitted more emotional expression in any meaningful way that is received well in patriarchal relations. in reality, we are marked as "more emotional" and therefore taken less seriously than men.
nobody under patriarchy is allowed a healthy and full expression of their emotions, but framing emotional expression as an advantage that women have is bizarre.
Women are only allowed to express emotions that fit the role of servitude - love, care, nurturing, admiration, submission, and some concern or sadness when appropriate.
Men are only allowed to express emotions that fit the role of oppressor - lust, assertiveness, domination, anger, rage, violence.
These emotions are divided to sustain a hierarchy that places women below men. Anyone who violates this division - an angry woman, a nurturing man - is punished.
And women who perform only the correct emotions at the correct moment are still punished with the accusation that those emotions make them inferior to men, whose manly feelings are re-imagined as rational drivers of their actions.
ah yes. the classic "I can't sleep because it will be tomorrow in an instant and tomorrow requires things of me and I Simply Do Not Vibe With That". so I'll go through said tomorrow on 2 hours of sleep. very smart and once again no lessons will be learned
Minnesota- the receipts
Ok, my previous attempt to share this list was kind of a formatting nightmare. I'm gonna try this again.
Here is a bunch of impartial news sources explaining what's going on in Minnesota right now, organized by persuasion tactic. The goal is to get as many people calling their Senators as possible, as fast as possible. Ideally, ahead of the vote Friday. But, even after that, we need people making noise about what's going on here.
Please wait till I get to the end to reblog. I'm constrained by the link limit.
In case they say āwell there must be a reason for them to do thisā
Oh boy are there. But they aren't good.
Hereās the Trump administration demanding we hand over control of our elections in order to stop the occupation (please see the ālaw and orderā section below for takedowns of the lies included in the administrationās letter.) (sidebar butāstateās rights? Hello?)
source
Here they are trying to override Minnesotansā objections to mining our pristine boundary waters. (As an added noteāthe mining company isnāt even US-based. The money will be headed to Trumpās cronies outside our borders. I oppose it anyway because this endangers the wildlife and drinking water ofā¦a huge number of people, but I guess some people care about that as well.)
source
He's been doing this to states that voted against him. It's not subtle.
source source source
Here are some arguments for the "think of the children!" crowd
ICE threw a gas canister into a minivan with 6 children inside who were on the way home from soccer. A 6 month old infant was hospitalized for days as a result.
source
Multiple children were kidnapped right off their school bus, including a 5 year old boy who was kidnapped right in front of family after being used as bait. He is a legal asylum seeker and pretty obviously not a violent criminal. He has since vanished across state lines
source source source source
ICE argues loud and proud that they are not responsible for sexual assaults occurring in their facilities- including those perpetuated by their own officers
source source
They have multiple facilities just for kidnapped children under age 5 who they took without their parents. These are our "dangerous criminals"?
source source
Multiple school districts have gone to all or partial virtual learning because ICE keeps sniffing around schools, presumably for more "bait" children.
source
For the āitās a bunch of fringe terrorists resisting legal law enforcementā crowd:
- Firstly, some images of about 50,000 Minnesotans showing up in the middle of a negative 20-degree work day to protest ICE. We had the first general strike in 80 years. Look at these pictures. Minneapolis is a small city. We have never had this kind of cross-class, cross-generation, cross-race, cross-party lines unity before.
This is not fringe. This is because everybody here has stories of seeing ICE try to beat and abduct people. In the city, in our small towns, and in our suburbs.
source source source source
Even a bunch of local republicans are begging for this to stop
source source
For the Second Amendment fans:
NRAās statement about the murder of a nurse who worked at the local Veteransā hospital. He never pulled his gun; we have video proof from many angles. He had a gun he was legally allowed to carry, so they shot him many, many times while holding him down.
source
For the "it's about law and order" person in your life (this one will take multiple reblogs because I have SO MUCH DOCUMENTATION of ICE's flagrantly illegal behavior)
People seem to have forgotten that being undocumented is not actually a crime! Thatās why itās not handled by the criminal justice system. It is not illegal.
source
Here is some documentation of ICE arresting thousands of citizens with no due process, no Miranda rights, and not even with anything they can be charged for. Often accompanied by violent beatings.
source source source source source
ICE are grabbing people with no warrant, no probable cause, without even knowing their name. Being brown or black, having an accent, or filming them is enough for them.
source source source
ICE is claiming they can go anywhere they want - including into your house, without a judicial warrant. They think that because the Trump admin put out a memo saying so. This is flagrantly illegal.
source source source
Here is ICE lying about it being legal to film them. Again, they believe this cause the administration told them it is true. It is not.
source source source source
Here is ICE brazenly lying about multiple murders they conducted in broad daylight. The insult of them thinking nobody will notice is just staggering.
source source source source source source source
Here is ICE harassing local police
source source source
In fact, here are a bunch of police leadership speaking out against ICE.
source source source source
And while we're at it, ICE and the Trump admin have been lying about Minnesota crime rates.
source source
ICE is whining about being āassaultedā by people laughing at them, shouting at them, refusing them services (remember that republican law that says you can deny services due to your beliefs? We can use that, too!), or putting water outside their hotel room. They say they can shoot people and itās fine, but people stopping them from kidnapping others with things like yelling, whistles, and singing is āassaultā to them. They then used this to try to suspend our right to assembly.
source source source
ICE running people off the road and then saying people are attacking them with vehicles.
source source source source
ICE insists that not only should they be allowed to do all this, but they also deserve anonymity. (Probably because they know state police are building legal cases against them)
source source source
Here they are lying about deporting veterans, under oath, and getting caught.
source source source
Here they are denying people access to their lawyersāagain, violating one of our constitutional rights. Like, not just once or twice, but as a matter of policy.
source source source
For āBut-But- The Fraud!ā nuts in your life:
The current round of āfraudā accusations was started by a YouTuber who showed up with a camera at a bunch of daycares and concluded, since nobody would just let the strange man come onto the private property with the children, that they were hiding something.
source source
The other fraud republicans are supposedly up in arms about was already prosecuted. Arrests were made.
source source source
For those focused on taxpayer's dollars
ICEās budget is bloated to the extreme, and they want to keep expanding it, and no they don't want to be asked what they're doing with it all.
source source source source
Meanwhile, immigrants have always been great for Minnesota's economy- which is stronger than most of the economies of states with less welcoming policies. Just saying.
source source source source source
And that's it for now!
Across parties, when people know whatās actually happening, they are upset. So please, please help get the truth out here, and ask people to speak up to their elected officials against this occupation. Republicans know this is tremendously illegal and unpopular, and are relying on ignorance and racism to get away with it. Donāt let them. And please- speak up offline! People not on social media have very very little idea whatās going on here.
call your representatives to urge them to vote against further funding for ice. this is a very easy process through 5calls and it takes 2-3 minutes. you are almost guaranteed to leave a voicemail so please donāt feel nervous or stressed about it, this is something that could make a difference. all you need to do is put in your zip code and the site will provide a script and the numbers for your representatives.
the deadline is january 30th and itās good to call frequently if you can
In case people don't realize the full extent of what's going on, we are under siege in Minnesota. I live in an affluent, majority white suburb of Minneapolis, and ICE is all over the place terrorizing people. They showed up at the library, kitted out in their Temu tactical gear, and stormed it.
The library. Please let that sink in.
They've pulled weapons on legal observers and physically attacked them. They're threatening teenagers and children with death. One woman told a story at my, again, affluent, majority white suburban town's city council meeting this week of being shoved from behind so hard that she fell down by an ICE agent, who then said to her, "Stop touching me." A man, in tears and begging for our city government to do something to help our neighbors, described having a baton pulled on him. They're luring people out of their workplaces with lies about "hitting someone's car in the parking lot" and then abducting them. Citizens and legal residents are being detained. People are being racially profiled and snatched. A teenager (a US citizen) working at Target got dragged out and shoved in a car, then dumped a mile away in a Wal-mart parking lot, beaten up and crying. And all of this is after they murdered Renee Good.
I don't emphasize the demographics of my particular suburb to say "but this shouldn't be happening here, we have money!" but to illustrate that the Trump administration has declared war on a US state. Even if you stick your head in the sand because you're white and won't be directly targeted, ICE is running traffic lights, speeding, tearing the wrong way on one way streets, and causing nasty accidents because they think they're above the law. They think it doesn't matter who they hurt or kill, because they're being told straight from the top that they can do whatever they want to whoever they want.
We are all under attack, and this is coming to a city near you if we don't stand up to it. Please stand with Minnesota, as well as LA, Portland, Chicago, and every other place DHS has sent their COD cosplay gestapo. I don't know what that looks like for you but please, please, don't ignore this.
I live in Minneapolis. OP is not being dramatic. We will continue this fight, but please everything you can to stand with us because nobody in this country is safe if they get away with these crimes against humanity.
Ways You Can Stand Up To ICE:
If you live in Minnesota, join the statewide economic shutdown and protest march on Friday, January 23!
ICE whistle resources - short bursts indicate ICE presence, long blasts indicate detainment or violence. Car horns can be used the same way. If you hear these signals and are part of a high-risk demographic, stay inside and lock your doors.
How to quickly disable phone biometrics
How to respond to ICE activity
Find a local rapid response team to join
Community support options
Minnesota mutual aid
Report and track ICE activity here, here, and here
Vehicles/plates confirmed to be used by ICE
Minnesota Rapid Response Hotline: 612-441-2881
Other rapid response and immigration hotlines
If someone you know has been detained, you can attempt to locate them here. I donāt know how well this works with the way theyāre disappearing people, but itās probably worth a shot
HAVE YOU CONTACTED YOUR REPS ABOUT ICE'S VIOLENT OCCUPATION YET?
Because they are gonna run out of funding at the end of this month. We are right around the bend of a major weak point for them.
And you can let your reps know RIGHT HERE that you do not want them expanding their surveillance capabilities to surveil every ring camera and phone in the country. Because...they want to.
You can help Minnesota and every other place they've terrorized RIGHT NOW in less than 2 minutes, without even getting up. You can stop them from continuing to gas infants, abduct neighbors, shoot legal observers in the head, and beat bystanders.
I would like to wish everyone an uneventful new year
May we live in very uninteresting times
may you experience very precedented events
