"VICTOR! GUTEN ABEND!" Guess who's coming in for a visit- and dear lord the shaman is STILL growing.
Viktor gives a friendly wave as the shaman enters. Ah, good timing! He'd just been working on a new serum at his workbench.
He wasn’t leaving.
Yuuka did not know what was going through his mind, as she was no mind-reader. All she knew as that he was now doing something that seemed dangerous and that he just refused to leave.
She growled, her tail twitching as she leaned forward on her toes as she examined the light from the humanoid in front of her. It messed with her form, made her shimmer and distort like she was in water. But it did not pull her; there was no blood within her.
Yuuka screeched once again, another warning to the opposing being to get out of her territory.
"..."
Well, we've hit a stumbling block. The bubble steadily receded once it was clear the plant creature wasn't buying what he was selling. It was also screeching at him yet again, likely another territorial measure.
What a bother... If he'd been able to bring it to him, it'd be a much simpler matter. If it had no metals in its body, increasing the voltage would only serve to harm it. Now he would have to go to it, instead; and no telling what consequences that would bring...
Either way, he had to try and win some distance. He did have a big, scary hammer on his back -- he'd start with that. Removing his weapon, Viktor held it out for her to see. Then, crouching down, he set the handle upright and pushed it deep down into the soil. See? No weapons.
Having made that demonstration, he held his hands up defensively to show no tools or any object that could cause harm, taking a few feet closer.

(Damn, someone is literally giving you flack for using walfas? I know folks ain’t like it ‘cause it’s often used for dumb stuff but like…. damn some fuckers gotta get they sticks outta their asses an’ calm down, you run a good-lookin’ blog so /o/)
[Yeah, I suppose mentioning it in the tags was just inviting one of those, though. >< I don't like being the hard case, but I'm not going to wear kid gloves with that subject. It'll just keep coming if I do.]
"My god, he’s like Magneto…"
It has been like a year, and he hasn't used his ability once. He is failing as a toohoos, dadgummit, Using the powers for a change.
Alright, look.
I get that some of the more snobbish in the fanbase stick their nose up at Walfas because they automatically associate it with Mary Sues and the like. I understand that there's been a fair share of less-than-agreeable sorts created through Walfas.
However, in the case of my blog?
Deal with it.
I don't have a masterful artistic hand, alright? The icon you see and the body shot in the profile is honestly the best I can do. I have no money to commission anybody for such things. Unfortunately, until such time in the future, Walfas is my only image creating outlet. The process that I went through making those images for Viktor took like two goddamn days transferring to digital because I don't have a working tablet, I had to trace the picture I snapped to Photobucket with a mouse and such.
And no. I refuse to do "faceclaims". Why? Because to me, "faceclaim" is "steal". You're taking an existing character and slapping their face onto something because you cannot be bothered to find a way to make a picture for them yourself. I'd rather be a Walfas "scrub" than a thief.
And no, I'm not judging you who do use faceclaims. Just understand I never will. That's my stance on the matter, I hold myself only to it, and will operate under it as such.
So, you there. The one in the inbox?
You have a problem with what I have to work with?
It's tenfold more frustrating for me than it will ever be for you. Deal.
Yuuka stared with hot-red glowing eyes, but the mouth… it seemed like a frown. Her eyes narrowed and several of the vines surrounding her began to raise, her wings flaring outwards a hint.
She then screeched again, displaying the two sets of teeth that made up her mouth - the red thorns on the vines elongating her face, and the white teeth where Yuuka’s true mouth lied.
Could she take a compliment like this? It was hard to tell with her in such a state. But she certainly didn’t seem too receiving of the man being anywhere within her territory. Maybe another time.
So then, this being was simply bestial, lacking sentience befitting its upright stance? A bit odd. From his understanding, all forms of youkai held a humanlike consciousness, the same moral definition notwithstanding.
"Hm..." An air of intrigue crossed his features. Viktor was by no means cruel or passive towards such beasts, but he was the son of a scientist, and this unknown life form was bringing him a great deal of curiosity. I wonder if it can even understand what I'm saying? It does seem rather territorial though, doesn't it?
A pause.
...It might befit me to get a better understanding of this.
A light crackling sound filled the air. From the faintest currents on the wind, a series of sparks emitted from Viktor's body, steadily growing in frequency... he took a single step forward, and a light blue "bubble" crackling with static began to stretch from his form.
If the monster Yuuka had become still had blood to speak of, there'd be iron in it. And that very iron would soon react to the magnetic pull the Frankenstein monster had just created.

Very loud screeching. It seemed to translate to ‘what the FUCK IS THAT’.
But otherwise she seemed disinterested in the lightning creation; she must be able to tell that he’s not exactly edible material.

Rood. Here he was coming to admire the sunflowers, and this...thingamajigger...comes hollering at him out of the blue? Still, what an odd creature... Like he was one to talk.
"..."
The gait was humanoid and the wings suggested something demonic, and yet the face was elongated in an almost-canine fashion. Not to mention those ears and that mane...was this some kind of plant-monster-dog?
"...This...your g-garden?" He asks hesitantly, before giving an approving nod. "...It's vuh-very nice..."

Well, now! It would appear Viktor has entered the store along with another small, greenish youkai! Perhaps they've arrived to offer money in exchange for more delicious things!
Lyth blinked at the arrival of the two, having been looking over business numbers for the month. Mainly inventory, but who was paying attention to it (clearly not Lyth if she was eagerly awaiting potential customers!).
She tilted her head to the side politely, “Welcome, how may I help you?”
Ha! Had she forgotten? Herbs and spices were excellent components for various recipes! Viktor would be the giving one in this friendship without a doubt!
…
Wait. They…were friends at this point…right? Or…was that just his assumption…?
"Well…um," Viktor awkwardly rubbed the back of his head, the mood suddenly becoming, well, unreadable, "should…stop buh-bye…sometime a-any-way."
However, Mayu was the telltale sign of something being amiss. Having spent so many nights upon her master’s shoulder before becoming a sazaeoni, she’d come to understand all his quirks and tells; and right now she was looking up towards him with a confused concern.
Just as well, though, Viktor knew his pet knew him well. Recognizing she was about to vocalize what he was feeling, he hastily nudged her in the direction of the door.
"Should be…g-going." Turning his attention towards Lyth, he gave a small, western-style bow. Then, in an uncharacteristically-clear tongue she may or may not know, "Vă mulțumesc pentru generozitatea ta.”
The subtle change in his attitude caused her smile to falter a bit, but the glimmer of friendliness stayed in her gaze as she watched him leave. At his farewell, she returned it with a nod, and a touch of her own language.
The dragoness was pretty confident that he saw her as a friend, even though they had barely met twice now. Lyth did have to wonder, however, whether or not he was alright.
However her concerns would not be voiced.
T’was not her place to speak, after all.
“Adio, și o veste bună pentru tine și prietenul tău.”
Well, now! It would appear Viktor has entered the store along with another small, greenish youkai! Perhaps they've arrived to offer money in exchange for more delicious things!

The dragoness merely inwardly laugh. As if she would lose this contest! Ah, she enjoyed a good, friendly fight between others. It was something she adored. A favoured pastime, if you way.
… Clinic?
She blinked, her head jerking back slightly as he gently booped her nose, “I don’t get ill, so your discount would be wasted on me, Herr.” She did offer a polite smile, “But I will keep it in mind.”
Her gaze shifted to the snail youkai, wondering what exactly her hair was doing. Needless to say she wasn’t… all that accustomed to differing youkai in the area just yet. It was… unsettling?
Nay, unaccustomed too
“Please enjoy them; they were made fresh this morning, so they should still be good for another day or two.”
Besides, her hoarde was something of different value. While most dragons preferred gems or coin, the dragoness preferred other things. Like tomes, and recipes. Hell she had an entire truck load’s worth of books with varying sizes and text back in the mountains; all carefully tended too when she had the time.
Ha! Had she forgotten? Herbs and spices were excellent components for various recipes! Viktor would be the giving one in this friendship without a doubt!

Lyth was not the sort to judge people by their outward appearance, but their personality. The dragoness had met many a person who was appealing physically, but with a rotten personality to go along with. Those who were marred and had damage – they were the kindest out there.
Kinder to the world than the world was to them… how terribly sad.
Her gaze drifted over to the youkai as she spoke, walking over with the boxes. Goodness, she certainly had an appetite. She began calculating out the price on top of the tray cake, humming as she did so. Once she had her total, she began counting out the amount of coins needed; and ended up leaving a small handful behind.
“Nonsense, you two are the busiest I’ve been all day. Worry not,” She offered a smile once more to Vincent, and a more polite one to Mayu. She seemed endearing, but the dragoness was… hesitant; towards demonic entities. She opened the till to place the coins into the tray, leaving the small pile behind on the counter, “Take your change.” She commented with a sly smile.
Vincent couldn’t argue back if she mentioned it was change.
As Lyth rung them up and wrapped up the transaction, the two had rather differing transactions. Mayu gave the baker a careful little curtsy despite some obvious apprehension from the other, meanwhile, Viktor just...stared, for a moment.
"Thank you, nice baking lady!" She chirped contentedly, taking the boxes and cuddling her cheek to them, the tendrils of her hair running over them as though tasting them through their aroma alone. "Mayu's gonna eat every last one of these down to the laaast bit! Nothing wasted! Right, Master?"
Silence.
"...Master?"
W e l l - p l a y e d , d r a g o n .
One would never imagine that it could ever be so hard to convince a dragon to enlarge their horde, but here we are. However, he would not cow from the challenge at the first stumbling block.
"That's...ruh-right~." Viktor responded in an all-too-cheery tone, softly petting his companion on the head. "Waste not...want n-not. That's what...mo-ther t-taught."
He took the boxes from the counter, before looking Lyth dead in the eye with a mischievous gleam.
"As well...as...re-tur-ning k-kindness." Oh dear, there's that uncomfortably serene smile again. "You...should stop b-by. I'll...be op-en-ing a cuh-clinic...soon."
Taking the change, he then softly booped her on the nose.
"Medicines...herbs, spices. O-ther th-things. I'll...give you a...d-discount~."
Well, now! It would appear Viktor has entered the store along with another small, greenish youkai! Perhaps they've arrived to offer money in exchange for more delicious things!

She tilted her head to the side politely, “Welcome, how may I help you?”
Lyth watched how he turned happy, then fearful at the prospect. A puzzled expression, turning to a bit of a frown at his words. What was wrong with inviting friends over? Did he not enjoy their company…? Or was it something else?
The tray cakes are put in a box and placed on the counter, and the dragoness gave him a polite, yet soft smile, “You should never be afraid of yourself, Herr Vincent.” She gave a brief nod, eyes closing a bit. “Being afraid of yourself only causes you to isolate yourself, and it is damaging to you as a person.”
Her eyes opened, her smile turning a bit friendlier, “Never hesitate to surround yourself by people who want to help you.”
However, the dragoness knew that only words could do so much. She gave a sigh through her nose, shaking her head lightly, “I suppose, do what you think is better for you in both mentality and physically. If you prefer to have your lonesome with this…” She looked over at Mayu for a moment, “Youkai, then that is perfectly acceptable.”
Viktor furrowed his brow in response to what she said. Did she not understand; did she not see what he was? It wasn't himself he feared, rather the nature of his being was one that many would go far and beyond out of their way to see ceased existing. He didn't know why, but...he knew this. He knew this to be fact, almost as though it had...
Well, at any rate, he supposed he did fear himself a little -- if only due to his frankly violent triggers. Just a moment of allowing himself to succumb to any pent-up anger and he became something truly worthy of the label "monster".
It made him both frightened and relieved to live in a world with such powerful people. If they ever hunted him down, there likely wouldn't be much he could do...but if he ever lost himself to a fit of rampage, there were those more than capable of stopping him.
"Mayu's do~one~!"
...And there were those who could help prevent such a thing from ever occuring in the first place.
"Mayu's sorry for taking so long! It's just-- Normally she got lucky if she found a peach or something on the ground~!" The sazaeoni squees a little. "This is, like, eleventy-billion times that! Mayu wanted to be sure she got something good!"
And by "eleventy-billion", she meant two boxes of various fruit-filled pastries.
Viktor softly patted her upon the head, taking the boxes and setting them on the counter to be accounted for.
"I think...that's all." He concluded, peeking at the dragon from the corner of his eye. "...I huh-hope we...aren't set-ting you b-back too much."
Lyth noticed his expression, but kept quiet about it. She didn’t know why he felt that way, nor did she care to poke her nose in business that wasn’t hers.
An eyebrow rose up at the explanation of the girl, and she gave a short hum. “I see, so she is like a family member or something of that nature?” A big castle… hm? She probably would have seen it on her rather long walks or travels then. But then, Lyth didn’t really get out in this Gensokyo area. She was… rather closed off from them.
Preferring solitude.
“You don’t have to live alone, you know.” Lyth commented, moving to get the tray cakes that he ordered, “Could have friends visit.”
"Family...?"
Viktor murmured the word aloud, his eyes widening ever-so-slightly to show he hadn't thought of it that way before. The more he thought about it, the more that neutral expression began to don a smile...
However, then things changed. With that last suggestion of lyth's his face began to turn. His eyes still wider than the norm, the smile fell to a thin line...then, the line curved downward...then, that frown hung a bit agape.
...Was that...fear?
The creature took a deep breath and exhaled, steadying himself and controlling his expression once more.
"Can't. Can't, c-can't." He murmured, letting off a small sigh. Viktor lowered the brim of his hat, concealing his eyes. "More... More to...be duh-done. Can't. Not...yet; I'm nuh-not..."
He trailed off, not quite knowing how to phrase it. He wasn't strong enough? Prolific enough, important enough? Or perhaps...guarded enough?
He couldn't place why, but every time he considered the notion of interacting with groups, he felt very, very vulnerable...
