When we write Eliot playing the cons, he tends to — and this is a lot of Christian’s acting choice — he tends to play the character very power negative. It’s a subtle thing but he’s actually the second best. Eliot is the second best after Sophie on the cons. I like weird maps. I like to see people sketch out stuff. I like to see how people process information. You know. Hardison uses computers in a very intuitive, natural way. Parker was trained, as we find out this season, by Richard Chamberlain, by an old school 1960’s thief. She needs pages, she needs paper, she needs to feel stuff. While Nate is able to- you know, something that happens a little later in the season, we talk about memory techniques. Nate has trained himself to recreate three dimensional images in his head. There are many things to love about Leverage, but most of all I just love the “fuck the high-road” energy. Yes, one of the messages is that there is always hope for redemption. But in a sea of “revenge makes you just as bad” stories it was so satisfying to watch the team take down those rich monsters who didn’t care who they hurt.
