the scent of citrus and sugar wafts throughout the slytherin common room as juliet lounges on the couch right by where her dearest friend sits, a bowl of fruit and a large bottle of water placed on the coffee table in front of them. the throbbing pain in her head grows when a group of younger students walk in while letting out shrill laughs that would put her shrieks to shame.

her head turns and she shoots them a glare, letting out a huff when they quieten and scurry into their rooms. now, it’s her turn to make some noise.

reaching over for the lemons and a fruit knife, she begins to slice them and chuck them into her water bottle. she’d seen quite a lot of fuss about supposed detox waters and how throwing in random fruit and veggies would clear your skin (not that she needed that) or miraculously lighten your mood.

god forbid fucking lemon water is what makes her personality do a 180°.

that’s just sad.

so in hopes to relieve her hangover, she went the extra mile and trudged all the way to the kitchen to get fresh fruit.

she screws the lid back on and gives it a little shake before taking a sip, eyeing her friend who seems to be more invested in some magazine than her. that needs to change.

“you know, i think this stupid fruit detox water shit can work. i mean, this lemon water is pretty high in vitamin c for something with so little calories and sugar. maybe i should just put in five lemons and hope for the best.”

a narcissist to the core, 97% of juliet’s posts are photos of herself, 2% are reserved her dearest friends, and 1% for the ~aesthetic~. she more or less has a feed to meticulously match ( play with offset and gamma as well as some colour changing ) and often deletes posts right after they’re uploaded if they don’t fit. there are hardly any text posts and not all of her photos have captions either. you’re better off talking to her in person if you want to hear what she has to say since the sole reason she uses this app is to post pictures and pictures only.

perhaps juliet shouldn’t have visited the owlery. otherwise, she wouldn’t have ended up here, all alone in the slytherin common room with a letter from her mother placed on the coffee table. a moment of silence passes, before she slices right through it by muttering a ‘fuck it’ under her breath. she reaches for the envelope and tears it open, unfolding its contents. a scowl creeps its way onto her face as she reads through the letter addressed to her younger brother.

i couldn’t find the time to write her a letter, so send my regards to your sister.

the parchment crumples in her dainty hand and she tosses it behind her, tempted to whip out her wand to incinerate the damn letter. instead, she grabs a throw pillow beside her and screams into it until her throat starts to ache. her high pitched screams are hardly muffled by the green cushion, but she can’t find it in herself to care.

dropping the pillow, her chest rises and falls as she takes in heavy breathes in attempt to stop the tears that are welling up from falling ( thank god she wore waterproof mascara and eyeliner today ). you’re a fucking idiot for having the slightest bit of hope, she scolds herself in her mind as she brings up her sleeve to dab at her eyes.

it’s only when juliet feels a burning sensation at her back does she turn around and her eyes narrow into slits when she sees him.

“the fuck are you looking at, huh?”
