When choosing a class and race, I first thought about what the character would be guided by, but, to be honest, some of them turned out to be biased towards how I see them.
This time I made the outfits more detailed, as I think that with age our level of detail in characters increases significantly, especially since most housewardens are well-read people, so they have quite a lot of examples to follow.
Riddle was probably one of the easiest classes to choose. True to form and strict, he's the perfect paladin. Moreover, I think this class is good for beginners (and the Queen of Hearts certainly didn't have time to play such games), as it provides a foundation for both combat and roleplaying. Besides, he's clearly read the entire Player's Handbook from cover to cover, probably even the Master's Handbook. And if a game has rules, they have to be followed, right? But he still needs to relax a little, and then everything will be just wonderful.
Leona⌠I'll be honest, he gave me a lot of trouble. Because it's obvious to me that the most suitable class for him is a rogue. But for him, the choice would be easierâif he somehow manages to get sucked into it at allâhe's a Leo, so his race is the same, and he chose his class practically at random. It's not because he's lazy or anything, I just don't think he's interested in that kind of thing. As noted, he doesn't really immerse himself in the character, but overall, he tries not to disrupt others' roleplaying with stupid questions.
Azul, my favorite octopus. He probably knew about the game from other club members, but he wouldn't have shown any interest until this wonderful momentâhe simply prefers tactical games. I have a feeling he'd appreciate the changelings' ability to assume different forms, as it reminds him a bit of his mer-form camouflage. Plus, it's a great opportunity for deception. As for the Warlock, I think it's obvious he'll find a way to outsmart this nonexistent chthonic entity. If he's really interested in the game, he might even create a real-life copy of his character's contract, but that's a matter of luck.
Oh, Kalim would be all for this new pastime. And the bard class would knock his socks off. Music has many positive effects in real life, but when you can resurrect the dead by playing the drums? That's incredibly fun. And not only are halflings a great fit for this class (not a very important note for Kalim himself), but they also have a wonderful ability to reroll dice, which is very useful for someone who often makes mistakes. Overall, I'd say Kalim is a GM's dream as a player - active, involved in roleplaying and story, and brings in goodies - I'd give my soul for someone like that, honestly.
I don't know what forces would have made Vil join the game, but he would have definitely become a star. First off, I have a slight headcanon that he's very familiar with the game itself. Not at Idia's level, of course, but he acts like a fairly experienced player. Perhaps this was part of one of his movie roles? As for his choice of race, elves are graceful embodiments of eternal beauty; of course, he'd choose them, there's no doubt about that. And I think wizards with a thirst for knowledge would be a good fit for himâafter all, such power is the result of hard work and study. I would also add that his character is probably the most developed of all, with a deep backstory and excellent presentation, as if he really is from a fairy tale.
Idia is an absolute expert on all things D&D. He's completed several campaigns, has his own collection of homebrew, and has a shelf full of miniatures. And he's EXCITED to be a player. He's a little nervous about playing in person, but that's overshadowed by his eagerness to share hundreds of interesting facts. And of course, such a person would choose the Artificer class. So many possibilities, so many ways to create interesting new artifacts and abuse mechanics. He'd choose a tiefling because of the interesting lore and their connection to the underworld. He also just thinks they're cool.
Malleus is absolutely thrilled with the whole situation. Firstly, he's been invited. Secondly, he'll be able to participate in a new and exciting pastime. He wants to give it his all and not break any traditions, so to be able to play the character more realistically, he chose something familiar. He's also very interested in the history of this fictional world and the magic within it. People are very creative in that regard, aren't they? Although he'll likely be a little disappointed by the spell restrictions.
Honestly, I'd say this roundtable is pure chaos, both in terms of balance and player relationships, but overall, they'll gradually find common ground. I wouldn't say it'll become a permanent feature, but it might happen occasionally.
I'm glad I was able to finish before the session started, otherwise I would have drowned in preparation.
A cat is a small creature in the middle of the food chain that is fully aware that you are a very large thing that could stomp its head in at any moment and yet it chooses to rest its tiny little head on your leg for a nap and spreads out on the floor near you exposing its belly and its most sensitive organs. It brings dead mice and bugs to you to share food.
Donât you get it? This tiny thing trusts you. It wants to help you too. It licks your leg thinking that itâs helping. It kneads on you to find comfort. It shares its body warmth with you in the cold and gives you your space in the heat. It hisses at other mammals it sees outside including other cats in an effort to protect its family.
Cats love you so so much. But they will keep trying to eat plastic.
Also, random other art. Weâll see what Tumblr likes more. No I donât plan on finishing it
Also, that monkey there is actually my Pathfinders 2E character, That I have yet coloring. I realized though, as I was doing it, was like ââŚ.Shiz, that looks like a ship child.â So itâs canon that the child will be named Kostu-
Hey, you reblogged that AI post and I was surprised to see something so mean on your blog. "If you cant write unassisted, fuck you, youre a disgrace to the community." Is that really something you want on your blog?
Just in case this isn't a spam message:
Posting AI-generated content to a platform intended to be an archive for writers is not appropriate use of the platform. On a platform intended for human creation, it is rude and inappropriate to clog search results with AI-produced content which often plagiarizes the work of human authors.
Use of generative AI is also horrible for our environment, leading to massive waste of fossil fuel energy and water. We should not be doing damage to our planet for the sake of generating (robot-produced, often plagiarized) fiction, especially when the joy of fiction comes from the creation and emotion of real people.
Rather than giving a prompt to a generative AI, people should consider attempting to write their own work, or asking another writer from the fandom if they would be interested in writing it. Anyone who is capable of typing a prompt into ChatGPT is capable of writing a story. The first attempts may not be amazing, but that is true of any skill, and anyone can improve with time and practice - and while ChatGPT may give you big returns in your time, it doesn't give you practice, growth, or creativity, which is where the joy of writing should come from.
To add to this, generative AI isn't an assistant for disability. Something that assists you helps you complete a task. You do the task yourself, the thing assisting you just helps you manage parts that aren't possible for you. Assisted writing could be using dictation, using a screen reader, relying on a spellchecker, typing instead of writing by hand, etc.
You aren't doing the writing yourself if you use generative AI. You're offering up a single sentence and asking a machine to steal the hard work of others so you don't have to actually write anything. The hard work you steal may well belong to people who actually need assistance with writing, and absolutely will not appreciate seeing the struggles they overcame being turned into slop for others to claim as their own.
Enjoy the creative process. Be part of the creative process. Don't become reliant on AI to the point where you can't think, create or act for yourself. This is why AI isn't an assistant. It takes independence and from you, instead of helping you realise it. It convinces you that you can't do things, instead of helping you try. It tells you to just leave it all to the machines and don't bother yourself with the fun (and struggles) of creating.
Generative AI generates content. That means the person using it isn't doing the work themselves. And that means it isn't a tool, it's a bypass. And it's a bypass used by lazy, entitled people who are more interested in "content" than in telling a good story. People who want headpats for being "creative" when they're so unoriginal they can't even do the work themselves.
Spellcheck, voice-to-print, screen readers, etc. aren't "AI," they're tools. They are what writers use to help capture their stories that they wrote. The writer does all the real work of creating and then uses tools to assist them in getting it down properly. Folks who try to lump it all together with shit like chatgpt are deliberately arguing in bad faith so that they can their machine-generated bullshit behind real tools that actually help.
"Why should I bother reading something you didn't bother to write?"
AI isn't 'helping' you write. It isn't 'assisting' you. It isn't some tool for disabled people. You're telling it what you want, and it's stealing words from other sources to string together a story. All you're doing is slapping your name on it to post online for back pats and high fives.
Just as an art AI isn't 'creating' that picture for you, it's stealing bits and pieces from other artists to copy and paste it together in some semblance of a (kinda sorta) cohesive image.
I'm sick of this argument that AI 'helps' new writers or artists. It doesn't. It's actually stunting your ability to USE YOUR OWN BRAIN and come up with scenarios and stories on your own. And every fic or fanart that's posted using AI just clutters up the space for those of us who write and draw each line ourselves.
We're not being "ableist". Miss me with that bullshit. We--as in, those of us who actually write and draw with our own brains--are having a hard enough time getting eyeballs on our work, so having AI created slop filling our spaces makes us testy.
We work really hard on our craft. Don't demean it by claiming your computer generated content is in any way equal.
