Hello! We're the Poker Deck Council, we're a monoconscious praesigenic OSDD system (they/them). We're a more recently discovered system, but we did figure out pretty quick the reason it took us so long to figure it out was because we share the collective consciousness.

We've noticed there aren't much blogs for or talk about monocon systems in general, so we thought we'd make this blog! This is a safe space for my follow monocon systems to share their experiences, negative or positive or whatever. This blog is open and accepting to systems of all origins and types as long as they're monocon, but polycon systems and singlets are allowed to follow and/or ask questions to educate themselves if they'd like!

Plurality on Discord

We were recently having dinner with our extended family. At one point, the conversation moved to mental disorders, and our cousin said “I think that, and no offense to you”, looking straight at us, “people shouldn’t make their disorder their entire personality”.

This greatly confused us, what the heck did she mean? We’re not just our social anxiety or ADHD, we talk to her like a normal person. We talk to her on Discord about general life stuff that usually has nothing to do with our disorders, besides the occasional comment that we can’t pick up a phone and call someone.

Then it hit us, we talk to her on Discord, where we tag all of our messages with who’s talking. She knows we’re plural, and in the beginning she said she was ok with everyone in the system talking to her. But we realized that by tagging our posts, we were in a sense shoving our plurality in her face pretty much every time we’ve spoken to her for the past 5 years, even though we almost never actually talked about our plurality.

The Problem with Syscourse

Syscourse fighting is probably well-known to anyone within a system or are studying it but there's a lot of problems with it in general. (This post is not made in biased to any side) #1, resources. as far as anyone can tell, medical resources used have been severely under the usual compared to others. a lot of these things go way back and overpass 10+ years even. if professionals took the time to study and make sources for people, it would help immensely. not just about syscourse, but with people trying to understand themselves. imagine if depression wasn't a well known searched area, many people suffering from it wouldn't even be able to know they were suffering because of the severe lack of information. its not just about syscourse at this point, its about the mental health of people in general. resources are needed and they're supposed to be there to help. with the lack of this, how would people help themselves? self research is important because it can help people identify a problem and reach out for help in that problem
