as someone who adores Yet To Come (and its obvs a classic in this fandom), something i've thought about a decent amount is the potential that a fic with opposite messaging would have. like, felix gets jettisoned into the future where locus is trying to be a better person and instead of that being the catalyst for any positive change, he slowly starts to chip away at locus’ sense of self again. A real boiling the frog situation, yk? And its like an exploration of abuse and how sometimes even when you think you’ve healed, if you see that person again, you accidentally revert back to old habits without being able to realize or control it 🤷♀️
