The main reasons why I think the “proship” label is useful: First, everyone who stumbles upon my blog already knows where I stand; no real person deserves to be bullied or harassed over fictional ships, no exceptions. Second, labeling myself as a proshipper makes it easier to find like-minded people (people who I can talk about ships and I know they won’t insult or offend me over them) to be friends with.

The Question in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part 1

(also it seems like Huntress is going to be in this movie as well so hopefully there will be some Huntress and Question interactions!)

Though they didn't interact, it was really good to see The Question (Earth-4) and Huntress (Helena Wayne, Earth-2) show up and have some speaking lines. JL:COIE Part 1 was a Barry Allen story and it was amazing. Now there's still Part 2 and 3 to go, so there might be more of Vic and Helena in store.

can someone on this gross fandom explain to me in 100 words or less why did we need the dream sex scene if this game is not trying to romanticize incest?

if this game is trying to discuss complex issues and is not just an excuse for pairing up two fucked up siblings because its hot i guess, why include that scene? how does it help the narrative my dudes? and for who's sake is it included then?

was it the demons who forced one of them or both hm? what was the fucking point if not sexy twisted siblings having sex because its hot i guess?

You wouldn't need anyone on this "gross" fandom to explain it to you if you had just played the game yourself, instead of deciding to complain about it based on second-hand accounts.

The dream helps the narrative as it gives Ashley knowledge of something she didn't know before.

WE (the players) know Andrew is into Ashley because we get glimpses of his inner thoughts, his actions while he's away from Ashley, etc. But it's also very clear that Andrew did his best to hide this from her (and from himself too).

ASHLEY, on the other hand, only realized Andrew was into her because of that dream, which is also made clear by her reactions and thoughts after that.

Since this question was way too easy, I felt compelled to answer, so there it is. I have no illusions, though. I doubt that any answer would ever be good enough, and I doubt it will take long for you to resort to personal attacks against me for being a "gross" proshipper - though I have to say at least proshippers can play this game and properly analyze it in its entirety, something antis are unable to do.

it is not like this could have been done in any other way. it HAD to be a dream sex scene. it is not like a character can know another character is sexually attracted to them without a dream sex scene.

Well, I had no illusions. I was fully expecting that type of reply, and even though I really hoped to be wrong, I wasn't.

First of all, I NEVER said a clairvoyant dream was absolutely necessary to make Ashley aware of Andrew's attraction — that wasn't part of your original question.

After I explained that we (the players) knew that, and the scene serves the narrative to give Ashley that information, you changed the subject to something else entirely. Now, it went from "How does it help the narrative" to "Why couldn't it have been done differently?".

Fine, let's address that too:

A little bit of genre literacy would help understand why the creator of a dark fantasy piece of media would decide to go for maximum shock rather than a tame reveal.

You said it yourself, the players can know Andrew is into Ashley even before that dream; the game slowly does a tame reveal first, and, as it branches off in multiple routes, Ashley only gets that specific dream in one of them — Now, it does seem like its mere existence as a possibility turned off a lot of people like you from the game, and basically left only proshippers in the fandom. Back when only Chapter 1 had been released, I used to see antis talking about it, now most of them are gone. The game isn't attracting proshippers, antis are the ones too entitled to stick with anything that doesn't conform 100% to their tastes.

I could (ironically) criticize any other aspect of the game with the same argument "We all know that if you're locked up in your apartment and starving, eating a neighbor is the only possible solution. Couldn't Nemlei have thought of something else? Amazing." And why stop there? We could go on forever picking apart pieces of media that way, "Mortal Kombat doesn't need fatalities! All that gore is so unnecessary!" Last but not least, disappointed but not surprised.

The only one who "admitted" anything here was you. What I said was:

Antishipper x Proshipper enemies to lovers Andrew is still an anti right now - ultimately repressing a lot of desire and using disgust to cover it - while Ashley is the proshipper, acknowledges they did a LOT worse, and "getting laid" pales in comparison.

PS: When Andrew stops repressing himself he will be a proshipper too haha
