MY MOM AND I ARE UNEMPLOYED!!!

hey guys, so i've been unemployed for the past 3 months and finding a job has been a real fuckin struggle. i've got $74 to my name and, while i'm not in immediate financial danger, my mom also lost her job yesterday. this means that my dad is currently the only one in my household who is able to support us.

i understand that a lot is happening in the world right now, and that a lot of people are asking for donations and commissions who are in far worse situations than i am. but if you have the means, i would greatly appreciate it if you commissioned me or at the very least reblogged this post.

Hello! ✨ Can you please tell more about Mireille? How did she become a singer and when did she move to St. Louis? :3

Mireille moved from Louisiana to St Louis in 1923 when she was 19. She moved to live with (and later on nearby) her Abuela after her Paw/Papere (grandfather- name is Yves) passed away. Felipe (abuela) moved to St Louis a year prior when he passed away.

Another reason Mireille moved was for school. Just better schools were around. And she just wanted a break from her parents pestering her a lot. (She still loves them though)

She joined the dance hall known as Carmen's Swing in 1924 when one of the band members from the business came by to see a small music show the school hosted. They told Carmen (who belongs to @cuepidz -seen below) about her, and when Mireille came to the dance hall (as she was a regular), gave Mireille an offer. And Mireille took it.

Mireille can't really play any other instruments professionally, so she sticks to singing and dancing.

She usually stays away from the rum running and such, but occasionally helps Carmen out visiting places for any negotiations.
