Here's a post 'A life to love' ending scene i've wanted to paint ever since i finished the game.

I picked Verso's ending because it seemed like a pragmatic choice if you only take into consideration the Dessendre and their relationship with the canvas and their grief. But as i kept thinking about it i ended up thinking about Maellicia and how I'd feel if i were in her place.

She got to live another life, free from the pain and expectations, where she found her people and a sense of belonging, I can't blame her for not wanting to let go, especially since her life as Maelle is as real to her as her life as Alicia. The way Verso's ending rips it all away from her makes me realize she ends up with more things to grief, another life and another brother.

While i do think facing your grief is the right path to take, being forced to do so that violently, and losing even more things in the process must've been heartbreaking, i can't imagine her getting over it so easily...

Clair obscur - Verso

Puse mucho corazón en este dibujo porque el juego me ha fascinado. Clair obscure me llenó de intriga, su forma de hacer reír en momentos tan tensos, llevarte a las lágrimas y todo acompañado de cinemáticas y música tan inspiradora. Así que intenté plasmar ese amor por tan fabuloso juego.Cuando terminé pensaba "¿es tan bueno como siento?" La cuestión en cualquier rubro de arte, sean dibujos, cine, escritos, es que se peca de buscar perfección; así que dejé de pensar porque así como lo miro me siento feliz.

I put a lot of heart into this drawing because the game has fascinated me. Clair obscure filled me with intrigue, its way of making you laugh in such tense moments, bringing you to tears and all accompanied by cinematics and music so inspiring. So I tried to capture that love for such a fabulous game.When I finished I was thinking “is it as good as I feel?” The issue in any art form, be it drawings, movies, writing, is that one sins of looking for perfection; so I stopped thinking because the way I look at it makes me feel happy.

I really like the 80s take on the Teen Titans Go! episode Night Begins to Shine.

While it's an alien setting I like to imagine that it's also a world with post-apocalyptic elements.

Me gusta mucho la versión de los 80s que propone Teen Titans Go! del episodio La noche comienza a brillar. Si bien se trata de un ambiente alienígena me gusta imaginar que también se trata de un mundo con elementos post apocalípticos.
