Bo was just in the middle of drying some freshly cleaned dishes after the breakfast they just finished when she was wrapped up in Boris’ warm embrace. Instinctively, Bo tilted her head a bit to expose her neck to him as he peppered it in kisses, the redness in her face reaching her ears only deepening after the kiss to her lips. She rested her head against his after he nestled his face in the crook of her neck, reaching a hand up to pet his hair and sighing peacefully.

Never in her life did she think she could have moments like these--something so warm and domestic. No concerns or pressures beyond what to plan for lunch, then dinner. What teas were best to stock for the season, whether or not to buy new shampoo... In so many ways it was surreal to live like this, the stress she had been under for so long had her wondering if her heart could even beat without it. But it could. And it did, as every warm touch and gentle word reminded her as her heart fluttered in response.

“I love you too.” She whispered, fingertips gently and idly scratching his hair. “You handsome, silly man.”

Alright, I think this blog is long overdue for its grand reopening. This year and a half of hiatus helped me figure out some things… I think I can afford to write here again, now.

Do you like Japanese superheroes and villains? How about some all grown up magical girls and boys, the avatar of despair, a few armored vigilantes and also a bear in a top hat and a giant capybara for some reason? Because if any of these strike your fancy, boy do I have a blog for you!

// so i disappeared for ages again without warning. i should really stop doing that. but for now just thought i’d let people know I’m at least lurking again, alive and well enough! Right now I’m focusing all my brain power and RP juice on my sideblog for Peter and another oc of mine, Sanctus. I like having them and their aesthetic posts all in one easy to navigate place, hence the change. In their main/pokeverse they’re a beta arceus and an arceus, respectively! There’s a lot of space-time nonsense going on and they’re not ‘the’ arceus, their abilities are limited, so don’t worry too much about sanctus teleporting behind your character like ‘nothing personnel, kid’ and stabbing them with a lightsaber or however that meme goes. Peter is essentially unchanged from how he appears here save for his origins, but I’m very eager to try out Sanctus! he’s an important character to me that I want to rebuild positive associations for.

They don’t have any other verses worked out just yet, though I at least have ones planned for Silent Hill, general fantasy, and maybe a catch-all verse or two for farming sims like harvest moon, stardew, or rune factory. Mmmaybe even pretty cure? who knows. I’m not in too big a hurry though. just thought I’d let yall know what’s up

He clearly is a bit taken aback by her teasing. “I- I’m not of course.” It was going to become incredibly hard to read in this house, he could just tell. Though he did listen to what Irish had to say, and though he didn’t agree with her path he didn’t blame her for taking it either.

“Well, as long as you don’t bring the police to my door or anything.. So try not to get yourself in too much trouble while you’re staying here, got it? I just got settled here.” He just kind of takes Kuno’s paws to his head, pushing up said glasses. “My glasses don’t make me smart, it just means my eyes don’t function well on their own so I need them to see correctly.”

He gave a sigh. Going about explaining something complex like that was something else altogether. “It’s that humans have particular rules that you shouldn’t break called laws, and they have a group of people to help enforce those laws called police. If you break a law and are caught by the police, they could put you in jail for a long time among other things. It’s a way to maintain order, so that society doesn’t just erupt into chaos. But it’s alright for you as a pokemon because that’s how dark-types like you tend to gain advantages in battles. People can’t expect pokemon to understand or follow human laws, and so they just adapt the best they can to pokemon behavior instead.”

“So you just have to not get caught, right?”

Well, that's one way to interpret it. Svetlana brings a hand to her mouth to stifle a snort before she looks away as if to deny any responsibility for her son’s questionable ethics. As she’s trying to gather herself together, Kuno focuses on Damian again.

“But what if a pokemon does understand the laws an’ stuff? Like... I mean, I don’t think I’m too dumb like a lotta humans might think. I know lotsa pokemon who can’t talk like I can and still understand a lot of complicated things even I can’t! But then again...” He sighs, withdrawing his paws from the side of Damian’s head. “I just don’t want to worry about laws, especially if they get in the way of surviving. Being a human all the time sounds like too much trouble, I dunno how Mama does it!”

Svet is still struggling not to giggle, but finally manages to speak up.

“It has its upsides, I’m sure. Somewhere... probably. Humans get to own fancy houses and fun machines and whatnot, that has to count for something. And all the different kinds of foods? I’d take even a poorly made potato gratin over berries any day!”

Kuno practically vibrates with excitement as he nods in agreement, starting to paw at Damian again before talking.

“Do you cook?!”

“Is this the sort of work you’ve taken up since I last saw you..? You’re far more.. provocative than I remember.” The tone of his voice doesn’t insinuate maliciousness, but rather a genuine sort of surprise. To be frank, he’s not quite sure what to do with an overly affectionate childhood friend. “Hm.. If you insist on showing your appreciation then I suppose I can allow it so long as it’s not interrupting my work.”

He straightened his shoulder as Kuno climbed up on it, his heart absolutely melting as he reached a tiny paw to put on his head. “That’s not true, I give my other pokemon kisses too. Either way, that does sound interesting. I’d be delighted to see that once your illusions become more potent.”

“Provocative? Well, now... Are you feeling ‘provoked’, Dami?” She chuckles through a toothy grin not too unlike Kuno’s own mischievous smile as she leans closer to him, nudging her shoulder against his. The shoulder that Kuno hasn’t already claimed as his own real estate, that is. “But to answer your question, no, it’s not quite like that. I’m not really sure how to describe what it is that I do. Steal from the rich and or perverse to feed me and my boy? That makes it sound more noble than it really is, but I suppose that’s the gist of it. When my grandmother passed away, there was so much fighting over inheritance and even then I wound up with nothing, so... I don’t know. I guess I just stuck with what I knew, what came most naturally to me; sleight of hand and using my good looks to get by, all that jazz.”

She pauses for a moment, something seeming to dawn on her and her playful demeanor seems to sour.

“Must say a lot about me that that’s what comes naturally, huh.”

Kuno, noting the downwards turn of the overall mood, puffs up indignantly.

“But isn’t that okay? If I use fake tears or I flatter or I snatch something, it’s okay. Why is it not okay for you? You don’t do it to hurt people--not good people, anyway...” Kuno doesn’t wait for her to answer before he presses his other front paw against the side of Damian’s head. “You have glasses, so you must be smart. Do you know why it’s bad?”

He turned to walk away but he stopped as Peter grabbed his sleeve. He glanced to him, but then looked away. “..I do like you Peter. You.. are a good friend. But that’s just it. I’m not meant to mingle with others.. Perhaps doing so anyways is selfish of me.. If you continue to be around me, someone may hurt you.” His eyebrows furrow. “Or.. I may end up hurting you myself. I.. don’t know if I could stand it if something happened to you.”

He’s saddened himself by the prospect of not seeing him again, as he will also be lonely. Just like he was in the past. But.. it would probably be for the best. To make sure Peter stayed safe, unlike… “..I am content to know humans like you exist in the world. So.. thank you.”

"I am not even meant to exist at all... but here I am, here I am, right here...” He gives a little scoff, though it is all good-natured. “I am not afraid of dying, because I have already. Or other mes have... in this world, and others.”

He doesn’t relinquish his grasp on Kozu’s sleeve, if anything his grip tightens and the tiniest wrinkle forms between his brows.

“No one else will hurt me because no one notices me. My mom always said I have very little... little... essence?” He pauses, brows furrowing before he blurts out a correction. “Presence! It’s like I’m not here. I walk into a room and no one notices until I say something... then they jump because they were surprised. That’s how it’s always been. You only notice me because I want you to! I want you to notice me... because you’re my friend, and I’m not going to let you hide under a rock no matter how neat rocks are, because--because maybe I want to be selfish and stay with my friend!”

He hadn’t put in a lot of thought to what happened all those years ago before he fell asleep. But now that he was dwelling on it.. there was something that changed those people. Him. Would those kind ones who fed him and made him happy have still been alive if he hadn’t tried to come with them.. to live a life with them. Those angry villagers were trying to go after him.. No, but it was their dark hearts that instead took out their fears and suspicions on them. Still.. in return, he didn’t just claim their lives, but everyone’s in the village. They were people he hadn’t quite known just yet.. he never got the chance. Yet he wiped them out like they were nothing..

He seemed distantly in thought before he started to focus on Peter’s words again. He hadn’t even realized his teeth were clenched rather tightly. No, he had to relax.. Peter is a good human.. He must not hurt him. “You’re welcome…” he murmured, though it seemed half-hearted. “..I better go home.” Sleeping in his magma pit sounded pretty good right now. “Perhaps it’s best if this is the last we run into each other.”

Peter watches the taller man for some time, head tilting in something between curiosity and concern. He does not want to jostle the man from his thoughts, but he looks so troubled. It is only after Kozu seems to return to the present that Peter reaches out to gingerly grasp at his sleeve.

“Is that really up to us?” He asks quietly, the question so quiet it bordered on muttering. Every time they had met was typically just happenstance. “I like seeing you. You’re kind to me. We’re friends... so it would be too lonely to never see you again.”
