Just to get this out of the way: "cult" as in mystery religion, not high control group.

Anyway, HI! I'm Friend-[redacted], welcome to my super occult side blog.

I am a bioregional animist and uh.... sorcerer? Let's go with that. I do magic shit, is the point.

I'm interested in chatting with people about magic, mysticism and animism. I like to explore concepts via humor, and while I am in a long term, committed relationship with The Bit, my interest/belief in magic is not a bit.

I am not interested in being a teacher, "resource", or content creator. I do not claim any authority on these subjects, nor do I particularly trust most people who do.

I'm pretty friendly! Come, play with me in this space.

While I appreciate white people being vocal about antiblackness, decolonization, appropriation etc, I think it's also important to remind you all that you should never take any white person, no matter how good and kindhearted and knowledgeable they might seem, you should never take them to be the leading voice in decolonization, antiblackness nor spokespersons for Black and Indigenous peoples.

If you have questions about Indigenous people's relationship to the Land, about our traditions, about appropriation, how to approach Indigenous peoples respectfully or how to avoid hurting closed practices, ask people from those closed practices and cultures. We're right here!!! You asking the white person like we don't exist, or worse, only taking your answers from other white people, is not as woke as you think it is. It's the opposite of the work you should be doing.

Oh, and no matter how "educated" someone seems, it's still nowhere near accurate from our perspective. White people don't speak for us and they cannot lead these movements, they shouldn't and cannot represent us because these movements exist to de-center and de-platform whiteness. Not to mention, they're still outsiders and they still get things wrong. They're learning and looking in through a window as much as any other white person is. And you're taking all your guidance from them without knowing that, without having any way to tell when they're wrong or misguided, because you're also an outsider. It's literally the blind leading the blind.

Do better. Ask the source directly. Center Black and Indigenous voices.

Interrupted some sort of squirrel convention this morning when I walked out of my house. There were at least 9 of them hanging out in the street when I came out, and they all kind of scattered under cars and up trees, then gradually came back out, making quiet little irritated squirrel sounds when I didn't immediately try to eat them.

Don't like that.

beginner witchcraft conversations: this is a helpful list of correspondence for attracting wealth I've found :)

Advanced witchcraft conversations: okay so you want to attract some wealth. What works for me is to gather the dew you left out on some coins during the Taurus full moon , astrally visit your Abundance Guardian (mine looks like a frog but yours might look different) and astrally connect your Abundance Guardians energy to the dew and put the coins in the frogs mouth as an offering. Anoint bay leaves with the Taurus moon dew water and mail them anonymously to your workplace. There are quicker ways but this one never fails me

Back on the folk bullshit with @cultusquercus and our buddy Joanie on the Pony in the traffic circle/crossroad. We had hot cross buns for a picnic, wandered around drinking wine from jam jars unnoticed while people swirled around us in cars. A crow also rode the pony. There were already flowers there, not sure if it was for Joan of Arc's feast day or the WW1 memorial it was dedicated to. noticed people had been stashing coins there, not sure if that is A Thing. I stashed a washer.

St. John's water 2025

This year I crammed a lot more stuff into the bowl. Last year it was pretty much all from my garden, whereas this year I foraged a good amount of it. Very interesting to compare what's in bloom on this date between years. Kinda wish I had love in a mist, though (at home... it's blooming at my community garden plot but that's off in the other direction from where I do most of my foraging). This year's water could use some blue.
