It only going to bug her otherwise.❜ the summon thought tail swooshing back and forth behind him. He was getting quite curious now. Otoya placed a hand on top of Cecil’s head keeping him in place. ❛Awww… I just want to know!❜ Cecil thought.

   Otoya sighed. He could tell that Cecil was getting curious about something, but what that something was was a mystery to him. Before Otoya could rub Cecil behind the ear Kairi spoke. Now it was his turn to cock his head to the side. To a point one could see question marks floating over his head.

   ❝Sea Salt Ice Cream…?❞ Otoya repeated only for Cecil to lightly paw his face.

   ❝The ice cream you had at one amusement park that one time.❞ Cecil reminded him.

   Ruby-red eyes blinked before it clicked. ❝You mean the ice cream that you ate leaving me with none?❞ Cecil then pretended to be interested in the wall looking away from Otoya. ❝No, at least not with this mooch around eating my food when I’m not looking.❞ Otoya answered. ❝I doubt Yen Sid need anything else after this. He probably gave you the mission to find me, but in reality he wanted you to face the memories you were running from.❞

   He wasn’t at all against hanging out with his little sister later. Just have to get around Yen Sid first. Hopefully his assumption was right and they were no longer needed.

Yep. Being around these two would definitely be fun. Kairi has never met the cat before, but he does seem fun to be around. If anything, he makes the situation seem more relaxed than it really is! ...To her, anyway.

“Sea Salt Ice Cream it is after we check in with Master Yen Sid.” She chuckled.

The fact that it was just a possibility that she was sent to fetch Otoya and face the memories she tried to keep locked behind doors was not completely out there. It was actually surprising that the Master was able to connect two and two together and realize things without possibly either side hinting that they have a missing sibling. At least, he never got any information from Kairi’s end anyway.

“Oh, there you are!” A small voice spoke up as Kairi came near the Master’s door. Kairi stopped and turned toward the voice to see that it was Fauna, followed by the other two fairies.

“Hello! We were just about to--” “Yes, we know.” Spoke up Merryweather.

“We were looking for you to tell you and Otoya to go do something else. Master Yen Sid has other things to take care of for the time being.” Flora chimed in with a smile.

Kairi tilted her head toward the side for a moment then. “Ah... Well..” She looks over toward Otoya and Cecil. “...I suppose that outing with ice cream can come first then.”

“Shall we? Some of the best are served at Twilight Town if you don’t mind traveling through the portals again.”

Which wasn’t the case he was just amused at the whole situation. It took the older geezer Master Yen Sid to bring them together after these years. Maybe, just maybe he’ll try and be nicer to the old wizard. Maybe…

   ❝Thanks for that. Though, Cecil did end up taking care of that himself.❞ another chuckle as he heard the cupboard behind him open. Otoya didn’t even have to look to know that Cecil was staring at him. ❝You plan on coming or do you plan on making that cupboard your home now?❞

   Cecil rolled his eyes (despite being a cat). ❝Even if I were to do that I would still be able to find you no matter the world you are on.❞ he said before leaping the distance between the cupboard to rest on Otoya’s shoulder. ❝Shall we get going then?❞ tail twitched.

Kairi couldn’t help but to chuckle at that time. She really didn’t give herself the time to really think about the things that should have mattered for herself. Neither did time, apparently. But she supposed a word of thanks was in order considering this encounter wouldn’t have happened if it were not for him. 

She looked over her shoulders toward Cecil as he landed on Otoya’s shoulder. “Yeah.” She answered. And there was another.. being to thank too. But she’ll do that the next time it’s just those two again.

“Maybe after whatever Master Yen Sid needs... have you ever had a sea salt ice cream before? We could hang out somewhere later and just... talk.” She suggested as they walked out of the kitchen. Bonding over ice cream... is never a bad idea. It would help to get the awkwardness out of the way at the very least.

...Was he that amused over her attempts to be a bit... nicer? It was almost embarrassing to be chuckled at, but it was something they had both agreed on. Was it the older sibling thing? Hn..

...She supposed it was only karma that she had to blame. Kairi does tend to tease her two friends whenever the occasion arose. So she chose then not to say anything about it. “May as well. It’s not as though right now is break time or whatever you see it as. I only left the room to feed your cat.” She gave a shrug then. Nope. She wasn’t trying to escape.

Kairi started to move then toward the door. “We can continue the conversation at a later time. Shall we get going?”

          KINDNESS was something he felt like he didn’t deserve. They should have been angry at him, instead of welcoming him back with open arms. It was strange to think that he’d rather be punished for his mistakes, rather than forgiven. But his mistakes had cost them years of their lives that they could never get back. Years of struggle, trauma, and separation were caused by his own foolishness. How would things have changed if he hadn’t been so ambitious?

❝  That’s true. All three of us are supposed to visit the worlds together. I’m sure there’s many more Sora and I haven’t gone to that we can find with you. Maybe we can go in a few weeks, once we’ve had time to rest. It’s been a while since we’ve been home.  ❞   At least, together at peace like this. There were many times he had visited the island, if only to make sure that his home world and Kairi were still safe from harm. He wouldn’t let the darkness return here, which there had to be more of it left. The battle against the darkness couldn’t be over so easily—at least, that’s what he wanted to believe. Anything to stop him from feeling so different from the others. He didn’t belong in this world anymore, and even though Kairi had the best intentions, she was making it clear he needed space. Time away from the two he would sacrifice everything to save. There was still so much about himself  that he needed to figure out, to sort through. What would his next plan of action be?

❝Speaking of rest, I’m starting to get tired. Ask Sora how he feels about visiting other worlds together, and then we can make a decision from there.  ❞   Maybe if he got a head start, they wouldn’t be able to find him. And then eventually, they would give up looking for him and let him decide when he was ready to appear before them. But now that they were finally reunited, could he really leave their side, despite how he felt? It was a decision he’d have to make soon.

Kindness was just about all that she could give. She did want to yell at him once they had united.. but all that she was able to feel at the time was relief. Sure, Kairi may have chosen to somehow have Sora safeguard her heart for a while... but it was Riku who kept her body safe while Sora was looking everywhere for her. Perhaps there were memories that remained in Kairi that she remembered though never said a word about. Building that raft was just a way for Kairi to go back and see what happened to her home. Sora and Riku were allowed to come along to keep her company at the very least. However, it would be a lie to say that she didn’t have fun with them.

It was true that they should get enough rest. But something seemed... off with the way that he was telling her to go talk to Sora. She shook her head then, reaching out for his wrist to hold as gently as possible. “..No.” she spoke. “We can go talk to him about this. Together. I don’t want the three of us feeling like strangers in the end.” It was true. Kairi missed the times when the three of them hung out often. It was funny. There’s so much that she could possibly say to Riku, and yet.. none of them really wanted to pour out. 

If he really knew them, then he’d know that Sora and she would not give up looking for him. It was partially her own fault for asking Sora to bring him back too. And this time. She was not going to let him out of her sight if she could help it. That’s the feeling she got, and she’s sticking to it with determination.
