To be honest Cuphead is an asshole. His impulsive decisions not only gets himself in trouble it also hurts the people around him, but he tells himself he isn’t worried about it, it’s easier for him to ignore everything than to acutely deal with his problems. So a lot of people don’t really care about him and see him as nuisance at times, and part of him sees himself as that too.
Mugman is a really emotional person, most of the time he’s angry,tired or both. He acts like this because of the fact he doesn’t like a lot of people at his school and he has to deal with whatever cuphead is doing,but he can still be caring to his friends and genuinely enjoys spending time with them.
Chalice was an orphan who left her orphanage and when she left one thing she learned that if she acted a certain way she could get anything she wants, it doesn’t matter if she has to lie,cheat or steal as long as it benefits her it’s doesn’t matter… most of the time. At the end of the day chalice still loves her friends cuphead and Mugman so she doesn’t try to scam them or do anything like that.
Bendy is a chill person who likes to play video games and watch movies with his friends. Doesn’t really have too much passions in life and isn’t motivated to do much but still wants to be helpful to his friends by giving them advice. The advice he gives usually doesn’t end up helping but it’s the thought that counts.
Knife was a result of an affair, his mom was a knife and the man she married was also a knife but knife was born a button. This gave him a bad home life, having to deal with arguments all the time made him kinda a pushover who can’t stand up for himself or his friends. His cowardly behavior ends up hurting his friends which leads to guilt.
