what’s worse is that only that first comment and its handful of replies were directed specifically at him, since he dared to call it out. the rest of the comments were randomly scattered throughout the replies on the post. not that it would be better if they were all harassing a visibly Jewish account (it wouldn’t be!), but this was mostly people having this erroneous, conspiracy brained thought and feeling the need to comment on it independently.

it doesn’t look like Hebrew at all, but it’s ugly. that’s the connection they’re making. “spiritually Israeli” in, one might say, a new font.

for three years, popbase, like a majority of update accounts and pop culture spaces online, has exacerbated and cultivated an antisemitic worldview and audience, so this is a natural outcome to their actions.
