~Young Nonna Carfoot/Duck~
1: her family last name was Carfoot until she married Bill John Duck
2: she was the youngest in a family of 12, including her father, mother, uncle, aunt, grandmother, two cousins and four older sisters. her mother and father never had sons so the family name would be passed down through her cousins, twin boys 6 years older then her.
3: when she hatched there was scandal whispers due to her darker feathers that never faded into light feathers, some whispered that her dear mother cheated. but this was shut down quickly by her grandmother who informed that her father was a dark feathered duck, so it simply passed down.
4: Nonna was quiet, polite, well educated and raised to know the place of women during her time. she took care of her grandmother and helped her mother and sisters with their work.
5: Her sisters and herself were considered women of value to the young bachalors in the settlement due to their Father, Bennett Carfoot was the only blacksmith in their settlement and had gathered respect and wealth for his goods and services.
6: When she first met Bill John, she thought he was silly, reckless, improper and clumsy. she was surprised when he failed the hunting party and thought his loud announcements that he would be the one to win her hand as preposterous.
7: She was just as shocked as everyone else when he showed up with a wagon full of Ox pelts and meat as a gift for her father, at first she wasn't happy that he had 'won' the right to be her husband. she of course didn't argue but she whined to her sisters about marrying someone who acted like a wild child.
8: over the first few weeks of being married, they stayed in the settlement preparing to travel to Bill's home town to meet his family. what Nonna found was beyond his reckless antics, Bill was caring, protective and actually quite skilled and professional when it came to hunting and taking care of her. their wedding night didn't go as she expected. when he simply smiled and said he could wait until she was ready then turned over and fell asleep.
9: during the tenth month trip Nonna found herself becoming fond of Bill's antics and grew to love him as much as he had loved her at first sight. she was happy to meet his charming family especially meeting his mother, someone so different to anyone she had met before.
10: Nonna loved all her children and loved raising her children with less strict rules allowing her daughter to become a sailor which would normally be an absurd idea. let alone letting Rachel change their name to Daniel. thought after the deaths of three of her children. during her moments of mourning, she wonders if she should have been more strict and stuck to traditional rules.
