What does your OC have nightmares about? Is it about the same thing they worry about in their waking life, even if only symbolically?

Daarka first developed a problem with nightmares shortly after Lokas’ war against the capital city got underway. In waking, she doesn’t have much of a problem with violence and is hard to unsettle, generally speaking.

But that’s because she used to have no idea what true pain was really like. When Asphodel tortured her, that sheltered mentality was shattered. Suddenly, she couldn’t watch people being hurt with the same blissful disconnect. She knows what it feels like to be stabbed, to have parts of her severed, to have bones broken. She thought she was mentally okay after recovering from that ordeal... but the horrors of war unfolding around her began to cause a slow but steady uprising of anxiety in her subconscious. 

She was fine during the day. But at night, it haunted her.

Since then, she’s suffered from chronic nightmares--something most people who know her would find hard to believe. Lokas does not sleep, but leaves his body lifeless in bed during the night, leaving Daarka completely alone in her struggles. 

After a while of trying to cope by herself (and failing), she began to spend the night in Skirk’s room. Something about the warmth of his enormous body, the way he subconsciously grooms her ears in his sleep, and--most importantly--the fact that he’s right there when she’s scared awake, is enough to keep the nightmares at bay.
