Monty prided himself on being calm when things go tough. But as he watched his darling girl throw herself on the floor because he didnât let her lick the parking meter, he had to take a deep breath. Elise was crying and Dante was clinging to his leg and he needed to have these kids in Daycare so he could go to work. It was a good thing he always dropped them off early.Â
âElise, baby, you canât lick that itâs yucky. It has germs and itâs not food. Are you hungry? We can get a snack inside.â Monty tried to reason but Elise only glared at him. âI donât think sheâs hungry, Daddy. Mom usually just picks her up.â Monty sighed at Danteâs response. It kind of just kicked him because of course Sally knew what to do.
Mater could sense his best friendâs stress from a mile away. Okay, not really --- but it was written across the manâs face. It wasnât hard to spot the source of the issue with the little girl sprawled out on the ground. He didnât know how to fix whatever was going on, he wasnât a father and he didnât have a ton of experience with children aside from Montyâs and his younger cousins --- but he figured it was worth a shot.
âIs it nap time already?â He asked, approaching the scene and immediately laying on his stomach beside of Elise. He crossed his arms under his chin, smiling at her despite of her not so happy expression. âI think a pillowâd make this a liâl more comfortable, donât you think? Not to mention it ainât too late yet. Iâd rather have a snack than sleep.â
