Gonna answer as many as I have answers to!
Answering for my first Rookanis - which was Zahdeya (my ZevWarden babygirl)
Is Rook a good cook? Or can they burn water?
LULZ. She can make campfire food and exactly ONE Dalish dish that her mom taught her.
Is Rook a picky eater or can they eat anything?
Rook likes food. Her only "picky" is that it not be Harding cooking. >.> She'd do highly questionable things for Lucanis and Bellara food though.
What's Rook's favourite drink?
A good, simple, ale if we're talking alcoholic. Othewise, she's a tea gal for every day drinking.
Does Rook have a comfort food? What is it?
a wild mushroom pilaf with grilled rabbit. Reminds her of home and days on the road with her mom.
Does Rook enjoy Antivan cuisine? Do they share recipes from their background with Lucanis?
She does enjoy Antivan! She has no recipes to share that he wouldn't probably mock her for. lol
Is Rook a romantic?
Oh yes. Very much so.
Does Rook enjoy reading? If so do they have a favourite genre?
Not so much. She DOES enjoy making Lucanis read TO her though.
What are Rooks hobbies? Do they share them with Lucanis?
She likes games of chance - especially Wicked Grace. She also enjoys anything that keeps her BUSY.
Is Rook a natural gift giver or do they need help?
She studies people and enjoys doing things that will brighten their day - so I'd say yes.
How does Rook deal with receiving gifts?
She will try to wave it off and say its not necessary. She doesn't understand that a gift to HER is about necessity.
If Rook got a chance to get Lucanis a second gift during game events what would it be?
A professional set of cooking pots and pans. Cause, honestly, we just using the stuff in the Lighthouse? How old is it? Does he even have everything he needs???? Baby boy deserves the best.
What would Lucanis get for Rook at the Treviso market?
Early on? Something better than the ratty bag she carries around from her Warden days - since she's a magpie and a hoarder.
Does Rook like to sleep in or do they keep a strict routine?
She'd LIKE to sleep in. But years of travel with her mom and then Warden life means she is incapable. She resents the sun from time to time and her own internal clock. lol
Is Rook a morning bird or a night owl? (Or perpetually exhausted pigeon?)
Perpetually exhausted pigeon. She wakes up early, but doesn't go to bed till late. She is one of those "just this last task. Just one more" type of people and will sometimes just pass out at her desk from exhaustion.
What's Rook's bed time routine? What about morning routine? Does it change when they get together with Lucanis?
-falls into bed wearing whatever she happens to have on. Sometime in the middle of the night she'll slowly strip as she gets warm.
Bathe and then get dressed for the day.
Yes. Lucanis will absolutely physically pick her up and make her go to bed some nights and make sure she is out of her fatigues and in something comfortable before bed.
Does Rook need their alone time or do they tend to orbit about others?
They hover, incessently. A lot of it comes from not having a lot of people around when she was growing up and now she wants to have them all around as much as possible until they eventually leave and she's, mostly, alone again.
What does Rook think about Spite? How does it change over time?
As any mage, she's a bit worried about him at first. But, he proves pretty quickly that he's not going to hurt any of them and seems to just be interested in their shared enemies. She loves that demon (platonically.) She'll team up with him against Lucanis for giggles.
If Rook had to face a personal demon what would it be?
Loneliness and Trust Issues - some of which is self-imposed. Growing up, she traveled with her parents - moving from place to place as her mom, WC Mahariel, looked for a cure to the calling. They never stayed some place long and she never really had a chance to make friends. She was raised to keep her own counsel and never give up too much information about herself as there are those that would seek harm because of her parents. So, she wants SO MUCH to be with everyone and be close - and to anyone looking at the surface, she is. But she knows the truth and knows that they don't know the truth. She keeps putting it of "to tomorrow" and the longer it takes the more she worries it'll blow up in her face - Especially with Lucanis. (Spoiler: It does.)
If Rook had to strike a deal with a demon to survive what would they promise?
I suppose it would depend on the situation. But, in general? I imagine, based on the above, that it'd be some sort of Desire or Despair demon (depending the day) that'd be more likely to come to her. If the situation were bad enough, and she couldn't escape it, she'd offer it her memories with the caveat of "28 years" give or take. Since, Wardens usually have only 30 before the Calling - she will absolutely try to outsmart/out negotiate a demon.
What is Rook's default fear response? (Fight, flight, freeze or fawn?)
PUNCH IT then feel REAL BAD if its someone who just snuck up on her not knowing better. (Fight)
Is Rook close to their family? How do they feel about it?
Yes. She loves and adores them. She just wishes they weren't THEM sometimes. (You try being the daughter of HOF and Zevran!)
Does Rook introduce Lucanis to their non-Veilguard family/ friends?
HAHAHAH.....EVENTUALLY. Though, it wasn't planned. Her parents show up at the Battle of Minrathous and she's like "oh. Well this could get awkward."
How does Rook feel about the Antivan Crows?
She grew up with her stories about them from Zevran's POV. She's VERY wary of them, almost didn't take Neve's advise to seek out the Crows, and tried VERY hard to keep Lucanis at a distance at first. She fears them at first and respects them later.
What are Rook's thoughts on Lucanis future as the First Talon?
-awkward, slightly hysterical, laughing prior to him finding out about Zevran.
-slightly less awkward/hysterical after the fact. If only because her connection to Zevran and Lucanis paints a target on both of their backs for House Arainai and any of the others Zevran has directly pissed off. lol
How does Rook fare with Caterina? What do they think about Illario's fate?
She knew OF Caterina from stories her dad told. The woman intimidates her. After meeting Lucanis and hearing of how he grew up, she can't help a small feeling of disgust because Caterina seems to embody a lot of the things Zevran took issue with. She keeps Caterina at arm's length as much as possible while still being polite for Lucanis's sake.
She thinks Lucanis went to easy on Illario. While she grows to tolerate him, she never fully trusts him.
Do they ever make it official? If so, who brings it up first?
They do! And Lucanis does. (Technically Teia forces his hand. So Teia does? lol)
What does Rook think about Antiva? What does Lucanis think about their country/ culture of origin?
She loves the life and vibrancy of Antiva. He finds the Dalish part of her heritage fascinating. But she cautions him that she grew up a wanderer and has no real culture aside from what her parents taught her. She's a mish-mash.
Does Rook make any plans about the future during the events of the game or do they take a day at a time? Do they involve Lucanis in them?
She tries very hard not to make plans for the future. She's a Warden, she doesn't know what that future entails except her eventual death. And, considering what's going on, probably best to not bet on anything. One day at a time - but with Lucanis as much as she can be.
What do they end up doing after the fall of the gods? Do they bask in fame or slink into relative obscurity?
She slinks away for a little while to adjust to her new freedom and to to start figuring out what life is going to be like now. (Wardens present at the final battle were cured of the Blight. Because I said so. Damnit) Eventually, she joins reconstruction efforts across Thedas, helping where she can with Lucanis helping where he can between his own duties. Thanks to the Eluvian network, and her access to the Lighthouse, she's never gone for more than a week.
How do they spend major holidays? Who keeps the calendar up to date?
Most holidays she forgets about and is content to ignore. So, it would be Lucanis.
