leftover gelato pride & plans
edited for clarity from the original response to sans.
cherry may refer to herself as a woman or group herself in with women for the sake of clarity and solidarity, but she is agender. it's not something she's put much thought into, but it's not a joke if she says her gender is "artist" and her orientation is "muse." she defines herself only by her ability to find beauty in the world and her desire to add more to it. anything else is trivial. that said, she does have a strong female preference, but at the end of the day, love is love and connection is the most beautiful thing there is.
for pride, she's throwing some kind of street party. it's a given. she's the president of parties.
basil would call himself an ally as the closest to cishet among the group, but even he's not quite there. he has been known to crush on men, but has no real experience with them outside his head. he feels comfortable in women's clothing, but has mostly experimented in the privacy of his own home after moving out. despite identifying with his agab, basil was forbidden by his father to express himself in such a way in his family home. he has yet to dress femininely in public for fear of similar outrage.
as one of cherry's best friends, essentially a little brother to her, basil gets roped into not just attending her party but helping out with the planning/setup.
ciel is nonbinary by default, as his culture's understanding of gender doesn't map so neatly onto an earthly perspective. although shapeshifting has become taboo in kanwafan, on earth, he utilizes the skill regularly. some days he'll present femme, some days he's masc, and alters his body accordingly to give his outfit a flattering silhouette. his attraction doesn't discriminate between genders. all humans are kind of funny-looking, as foreign to him as his people are to them.
he takes part in parades because he thinks the festivities are so fun and colorful. as a fashion designer, he may drop a collection of accessories in various flags’ colors, but he’d also be paranoid and worried about leaving out more niche identities/flags.
yuna is a semi-closeted bisexual. she's very open about it internally, and has dated women in her personal life, but it isn't something she speaks often about with others, and as a celebrity, she doesn't plan on making a public statement about it. she's concerned it would put a target on her back and give her added responsibility to be a good spokesperson for "bi rep." her life is complicated enough as it is; she doesn't need the weight of even more expectations thrust upon her.
she participates in as many pride activities as she can, but as "just" an ally, and feels like a fraud.
naux is also bisexual, but has no qualms about it. she has a male preference, but is more than open to the right woman. as a youth, she had "phases" where she'd dress as a boy and take on a masculine name, but this means little to her as an adult. for lack of a better term, she considers herself a woman, but would vastly prefer to be called "sir" than "ma'am." she's not particularly educated on modern gender and sexuality terminology, having been born and raised in the 1700s, and lacks the vocabulary to better describe herself, but this is fine. she's too busy to worry about labels.
she sells little pride trinkets at her shop and has been cajoled into donating a percentage of each sale that month to certain LGBTQ charities. she'd really rather not part with the money, but she knows it’s for the betterment of mankind.
hansel is very quiet about his sexuality. he's gay, but doesn’t think it’s something "necessary" to celebrate or even mention. it's just a simple fact: he needs glasses, he's right-handed, he likes men. he is distant from the LGBTQ community not from shame, but from disinterest, and won't object to anyone who does celebrate.
he doesn't do anything for pride unless his daughter, cyrille, ropes him into it.
BONUS ROUND: cyrille has done some exploring and is now coming to the conclusion that she's a lesbian. she's still sorting through her feelings, but while she's had boyfriends in the past, the attraction just wasn't there. the comp het made it hard for her to discern between strong platonic love and actual romantic attraction.
