No you know what i hope mavadi never happens because i wouldnt know what to do with myself if i got to see them get together on my screen
like pretty much any fandom or internet things, the pitt doesn’t really escape discursive polarization. i’m not saying anything new or revolutionary, most people notice it, in one direction or the other. and yeah, i get that it’s annoying.
but if you call yourselves politicized (and left‑leaning) and you want to stay coherent with your blog’s editorial line, you’ve gotta realize that characters like robby (or whitaker or langdon) or what they stand for, aren’t politically urgent causes that need defending. mental health topic or not, especially since he's not the only one it concerns.
yeah, men’s mental health can be an issue. but robby isn’t the one in a precarious position. robby isn’t the one already facing multiple structural discriminations. robby isn’t the one who has to think through every single thing he does or says just to be taken seriously.
i get why people love him, why they get attached, why they relate. i like robby’s character for several reasons too BUT he’s not the hill you should be dying on in your political fights. i used to think he was, back when i thought the show was still gonna deliver sharp, relevant critiques. that didn’t happen.
the end result of S2 is that the white man got prioritized, narratively and even outside the narrative.
and from that point on, it’s not about robby or langdon or whitaker anymore, even if you love them. that’s not where your energy should go.
if you watch the legolas and aragorn helms deep returning evenstar scene and don't think theres something there I think you need to get your eyes checked
had multiple almost friendship ending arguments about byler vs mileven back in december...what a time
easy to forget but book jon snow is great actually. he gets so drunk he cries in his first chapter. he's 16 years old and laser focused on loan negotiation. he keeps getting promoted against his will. he's the chosen fantasy protagonist with the worst genre awareness ever. he implements pro immigration social reforms. he has a giant albino pet wolf. he cuts a guy's head off. he thinks he invented cunnilingus. he's been dead for 15 years.

"Even with Ygritte sleeping beside him, he felt alone."
"Her captain was sleeping beside her, yet she was alone"
One thing that I find comforting about the (early) X-Files is that Dana Scully is allowed to exist as a single woman in her late 20s to mid 30s without being constantly being told by others she should meet someone, that the clock is ticking... it happens sometimes but on the average episode, you get no such comment. Scully's singlehood is not portrayed as a tragedy, nor does SHE feel like it's a tragedy. It's not something you see her stress over regularly and I find that refreshing.
Her date in episode 5 (Jersey devil) is so interesting. Her friend does give her one of those rare comments ("you need to get yourself a man") and she goes on a date with one of the dads from the birthday party, but even then, it doesn't feel too much like she was coerced - it looks to me like she saw the man and thought "why not?" She dresses up for and prioritizes their date. Ultimately, he's not her type so when he calls to take her out again, she puts an end to things. "No interest at this time." (And goes to the museum with Mulder). And she's moving on. That is all. She's still herself, we don't see her questioning that choice and agonizing over it. Absolutely loved that for her.
I think that, in other shows, an event like that could trigger a character's to spiral and question themselves and their worth. And maybe she does - off camera. After all, the X-Files was definitely a show that didn't want to be too romantic so lack of attention on Mulder and Scully's romantic lives is a byproduct of that.
Mulder also doesn't get hassled much about his love life. As far as we know, he's not dating, but he's also not bitter about that at all. I think it would be easy to make a character like him bitter and for him to resent woman over not getting laid, but that is not Mulder. Sure he has his magazines and his porn, but I don't think we ever see him being a dick to woman in a possibly romantic context (and even in general) - I see him as mostly a gentleman the whole way through. I bet if you asked him why he's single, he'd be super self aware too.
I'm a shipper so I do see Mulder and Scully together ultimately. Maybe Mulder and Scully don't feel a need to date because they are fulfilled with each other's presence. I'm also okay with the Ed Jerse and the vampire girl existing and Mulder and Scullg getting laid when they do.
But the fact that their lack of partners is not a big deal on the show and to them is really nice. I'm a single woman in my late 20s whose love life is not a top priority and sometimes seeing characters being repeatedly beat over the head about being single (and beating themselves up about it) does get really old
The fact that people take Daenerys — one of the most magical characters in the entire series, a girl who started out as a refugee and a slave and became a queen in her own right, who has prophetic dreams and incredibly intuitive magical capabilities, who miraculously survived a burning pyre and birthed literal dragons from stone, who then proceeded to abolish slavery and become the Mother of the tens of thousands of people that she freed, who is literally the fire of the title “A Song of Ice and Fire”, who is the closest thing this series has to a legendary and even mythical hero — and think that being murdered and put down like a rabid dog after randomly going mad or being stabbed as a sacrifice so that a man can appropriate everything she’s done and achieved to be the sole hero of the story is a fulfilling or even plausible end to her arc, is not only baffling to me, but also plain abhorrent.
How "Actually Dany doesn't have outsider povs because George is intending to tell us that she isn't the savior we think she is", think they sound: 🫅🤴👸
How they really sound: 🤡
Every character who meets Dany thinks she's nice and good (everyone that isn't a slaver, that is), but Dany haters will be like "Just you wait! The next one will totally hate her!"
Dany antis stay desperate to justify their petty hatred as if anything valid, rational or legit but pathetic jealousy and envy coveting her significance and assets for their glorified bland self-inserts. They hide the bitter truth behind nonexistent "reasons".
Underrated the pitt character who deserve more love by fans
Just started watching twd...whats up with rick and shane
