Hello, tumblr! I saw something on here the other day that worried me, so I decided to Do Science about it. But I can't do it alone: I need your help to build the dataset!

Here's what I need you to do:

If you see a post with a "mature content" label, and it's 2026, DM me a link to the post.

Yes, that's really it.

I am hoping to collect several thousand such posts, so that I have a decent sized dataset. I do not care what the post is about; if it's labeled as "mature content", I want to add it to my dataset.

If I get 10,000 posts in my dataset before August 31st 2026, I will post my preliminary findings then. I won't feel comfortable calling my findings "settled" before 2027, unless I get over 50,000 posts.

LIVE WALLPAPER: wallpaper engine. only thing on here that costs any money (its like 5 bucks on steam). im sure theres free alternatives but this one has a lot of presets and stuff so its less hassle and its what i use. might be a bad idea for lower end pcs tho

So I saw a photo of this hexagon tile floor . . .

The blurb said the shot was taken in Granada, Spain, by Agneta Fondén.  No other info, so I have no idea how old, etc.  There's a game (from 1988) that uses a similar pattern on one of its pieces, but this could predate it by at least a thousand years  — or not.  But the pattern intrigued me, so I made a texture map and used Blender's geometry nodes (no generative AI) to set up a hexagon grid with random rotations for the tiles:

That's all done with a single design:

You'd think this would have a name, right?  (For its historical use as an architectural / decor tile — although I've found out more about its use in games, that's not what I'm looking for.)  Like the Penroses do (and no, it's not one of those).  But I've had no luck finding it, or any other info.  Any (human only, please) help?

Florence Welch will literally write albums upon albums of music about how she's always felt ostracised from femininity, that it feels for her like a performance she can't escape, and even give a whole interview about her upcoming album being inspired by how a pregnancy almost killed her and how coming to terms with this made her feel alienated from her body and gender..... And STILL the majority of her mainstream fans will still talk about her work like "omg yes divine feminine womanhood queen of fairy girls uwu". I really hate how so many ppl just don't actually listen to music or care about what it's about. The "fairy-ification" of artists like Florence Welch, Hoizer, Fiona Apple, Mitski, Tamino, Kate Bush, etc, all of whom create music that's rooted in specific social and cultural themes, but the complexity and artistic intention is often totally flattened into !!uwu fairy girlhood in the woods vibes!!! Truly hate this brain switched off vibes based era of music engagement.

If I ever ran a coffee shop or any other such establishment, I'd have a system of employee discount privileges for rewards for good work and special occasions, including getting one for their birthday each year. Not a discount on the product, they get that one anyway, but having one workday where they're granted the power to arbitrarily give any customer a 20% discount with no limit. They can cash it in at any point, not required to work on your birthday in order to get it. It is entirely allowed to decide to use your Discount Privileges three months after your birthday because you woke up in a bad mood and decide to use it for evil. I don't know how you would, but it's allowed anyway.

Once you've announced you're using your discount privileges today, it's out of my hands. You can decide you're giving a discount to all your friends. Give it to everyone who has a cool haircut or nice tattoo. Anyone who looks like they're having a bad day. Rude customer? Nothing prevents you from going "ok everyone here gets a discount except this guy in particular." Fuck that guy.

The size and mobility of living things just do not track with ease of care at all. Fish? Pretty stable, stay where you put them. Incredibly complicated care, major investment, huge undertaking of regular maintenance, giant commitment. Cat, kinda goes anywhere, usually larger than fish. Maximum ease of care, set out food, pick up poop, keep inside, enjoy. Plant? Just sits there. Weirdly complicated about every little detail from daylight to pH, longer commitment than fish, requires regular checks, lots of work. Completely stupid amount of difficulty from the poster child of not doing anything. Babies, much less mobile than anything, often smaller than the cat, same thing a cat needs, food, poop removal, but suddenly it's a five dimensional game of psychological warfare against yourself and what kind of memory of parenting you're going to be 25 years into the future for a bag of screams that can't sit up. Unbearable amount of time investment and care commitment. Don't give people a baby for a gift, they'll go steal their own if they want one.
