NASA: we used to have 9 planets but we now only have 8 Pluto: Stop telling everyone I’m not a planet! NASA: Sometimes we can still hear its voice
Look, I’m not saying that demoting a planet named after the Roman god of Death stoked his rage and brought down on us his vengeful fury and retribution but…
*gestures at everything*
Finally, an explanation.
A better, more positive Tumblr
Since its founding in 2007, Tumblr has always been a place for wide open, creative self-expression at the heart of community and culture. To borrow from our founder David Karp, we’re proud to have inspired a generation of artists, writers, creators, curators, and crusaders to redefine our culture and to help empower individuality.
Over the past several months, and inspired by our storied past, we’ve given serious thought to who we want to be to our community moving forward and have been hard at work laying the foundation for a better Tumblr. We’ve realized that in order to continue to fulfill our promise and place in culture, especially as it evolves, we must change. Some of that change began with fostering more constructive dialogue among our community members. Today, we’re taking another step by no longer allowing adult content, including explicit sexual content and nudity (with some exceptions).
Let’s first be unequivocal about something that should not be confused with today’s policy change: posting anything that is harmful to minors, including child pornography, is abhorrent and has no place in our community. We’ve always had and always will have a zero tolerance policy for this type of content. To this end, we continuously invest in the enforcement of this policy, including industry-standard machine monitoring, a growing team of human moderators, and user tools that make it easy to report abuse. We also closely partner with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Internet Watch Foundation, two invaluable organizations at the forefront of protecting our children from abuse, and through these partnerships we report violations of this policy to law enforcement authorities. We can never prevent all bad actors from attempting to abuse our platform, but we make it our highest priority to keep the community as safe as possible.
So what is changing?
Posts that contain adult content will no longer be allowed on Tumblr, and we’ve updated our Community Guidelines to reflect this policy change. We recognize Tumblr is also a place to speak freely about topics like art, sex positivity, your relationships, your sexuality, and your personal journey. We want to make sure that we continue to foster this type of diversity of expression in the community, so our new policy strives to strike a balance.
Why are we doing this?
It is our continued, humble aspiration that Tumblr be a safe place for creative expression, self-discovery, and a deep sense of community. As Tumblr continues to grow and evolve, and our understanding of our impact on our world becomes clearer, we have a responsibility to consider that impact across different age groups, demographics, cultures, and mindsets. We spent considerable time weighing the pros and cons of expression in the community that includes adult content. In doing so, it became clear that without this content we have the opportunity to create a place where more people feel comfortable expressing themselves.
Bottom line: There are no shortage of sites on the internet that feature adult content. We will leave it to them and focus our efforts on creating the most welcoming environment possible for our community.
So what’s next?
Starting December 17, 2018, we will begin enforcing this new policy. Community members with content that is no longer permitted on Tumblr will get a heads up from us in advance and steps they can take to appeal or preserve their content outside the community if they so choose. All changes won’t happen overnight as something of this complexity takes time.
Another thing, filtering this type of content versus say, a political protest with nudity or the statue of David, is not simple at scale. We’re relying on automated tools to identify adult content and humans to help train and keep our systems in check. We know there will be mistakes, but we’ve done our best to create and enforce a policy that acknowledges the breadth of expression we see in the community.
Most importantly, we’re going to be as transparent as possible with you about the decisions we’re making and resources available to you, including more detailed information, product enhancements, and more content moderators to interface directly with the community and content.
Like you, we love Tumblr and what it’s come to mean for millions of people around the world. Our actions are out of love and hope for our community. We won’t always get this right, especially in the beginning, but we are determined to make your experience a positive one.

So in today’s sensitive and progressive world the First Amendment dies at Tumblr. Big Brother decides what is acceptable to the sheep. It used to be that the Right were vilified for being up-tight and censorship but we knew all along who were the true suppressors of freedom, thought and ideas~
No, they just don’t want a site that allows members as young as 13 to be full of pornography. It’s that simple. Everyone complaining in the notes is so ignorant. You guys don’t care about kids at all. They’re asking you to make the smallest sacrifice and you’re throwing tantrums like toddlers. All you care about is having an endless bounty of material to wank to. It’s not all about you.
Shut up. Literally every other site can control child pornography. What makes Tumblr so different? The staff is just being lazy. Period.
No, I won’t shut up. It’s not just child porn I’m talking about, it’s porn in general. People under 18 shouldn’t be seeing that, in fact I’d make the case that no-one should. It corrupts kids, creates porn addictions, teaches them to have ridiculous standards for others’ bodies and behaviours, teaches them to objectify before they’ve even had relationships, reduces the quality of sex and the ability to get aroused from sex, and worst of all, promotes an industry that treats women like shit. Your porn addiction isn’t their or my problem.
I’m not advocating for the removal of posts that show non-sexualised nudity, just porn.
No one looks at porn and thinks it’s representative of real life. Get real. Porn addiction? Really? Y’all see issues in these kids and immediately point the ridiculous finger at pornography, but you just come off as ignorant. Porn is sex. End of discussion, and maybe if kids (usually 13+, the age you’re even allowed to be on tumblr) were properly educated on what sex is, these (non) issues you’ve pointed out wouldn’t be issues. It is not porn’s fault that society does not teach kids on healthy sexuality and habits at the prime time it’s supposed to be learned.
Furthermore: these blogs ALWAYS have 18+ warnings, just like any other thing dedicated to adult content. They block minors they see. People, even those who are hardly considered NSFW, are going to lose income because Tumblr was their platform to make money. How is it fair that they’ve taken the proper measurement to ensure that they follow guidelines for their content, but the staff can’t even be bothered to manage the ACTUAL childporn, which they’ve BEEN known about and could’ve handled long ago? Think about that the next time you wanna talk about whose “problem” this is, cause frankly you sound like a selfish prick.

The first sin. Misconception is that Eve was the first to sin when that’s not really all that true.
You see When God created everything and then Adam. He told him about the tree he said don’t eat of it.
God never told Eve.
When Eve was in the garden being tempted read that section you’ll find something interesting. Adam was right next to her and he didn’t say anything. He was using Eve as a Guinea pig.
Eve bit into the fruit nothing changed she handed it to Adam. And when he bit into it their eyes were opened.
So really the first sin was Man’s passive nature allowing something to happen he was told not to allow happen if he never ate their eyes may never have been opened but who knows.

So what you’re saying is the original sin was man not fucking protecting his wife lmao
Adam was a fuck boy?
Omfg! I’ve had this argument so many times!
Apparently a theory is that we’re sinful because we have human fathers. Jesus was born of Mary without a human dad which is why he was pure.

My upstairs neighbor is having really loud sex at 10:25am. And, while this feels like retaliation, I can only hope it mellows her out and she stops stomping around all the goddamn time
Wow in the time it took me to type up and tag this post, the sex started and ended…… she’ll prolly be vacuuming soon. 🙁
It’s 10:29 and the sex has ended. I am v sad for her
I feel like I jinxed her. Like her nigga follows me on here and saw this post, mid thrust, and got performance anxiety. I’m sorry, Upstairs Stomping Bitch.
There’s stomping. She’s up and moving around. And you know what….. I can’t even be mad anymore. If I was only getting fucked for seven minutes at a time, I’d stomp around too.
Y’all she’s showing tf out. She’s really up there like
Damn I just heard her door close and then footsteps coming down the stairs. He left 😭😭😭 he’s not even gonna try again.
I’m gonna need ear plugs for the level of stomping this is bound to cause. When her feet inevitably crash through my ceiling ima just look through the hole and be like “hi…. sorry you didn’t get fucked down this morning. Even tho you filed a noise complaint on me that one time, I was rooting for you.”
Update y’all: it’s 3:10pm and she is vacuuming THE FUCK out of the hardwood flooring
But then like, that really does sound like something ppl that are in need of orgasm do. Just extremely unnecessary cleaning, to take their mind off the lack of sexual release.
I can see the text conversation now.
“I heard Aaron came over last nightttt. Whatd you guys get up to???👀👀👀😏”
“Not much. Oh! But, I did finally get a chance to mop my bathtub tho!!🤗 It was a mess in there, so thank god.”
“😬😔”
It’s 12:26am and she is getting her back blown tf outttt. Cannot be the same nigga from earlier.
I have the strong urge to knock the broom against the ceiling and holler out “yaaas bitch get some bomb ass dick” but I don’t wanna fuck up the vibe
Nvm. It lasted from 12:20-12:28. It’s the same nigga.
She better not start stomping or cleaning. I’ll file a noise complaint so fucking fast. Imagine getting a noise complaint for shitty sex. Don’t do it, Stomping Upstairs Bitch
what a ride
Not for her, apparently.
