Real quick do you think this is the only feasible reason people would be against endos? Also how fucking black and white do you see oppression. CDDs are already a complex and under researched disorder and there are still people who think it doesn’t exist at all. Obviously a group of people (stemming from hate groups btw) who mock, bastardize, and de-medicalize the disorder intruding upon us is going to harm the general publics perception of us. That is the arguement you are misrepresenting. What a stupid, bad faith point.

also them saying that is insanely tone death because YES THAT DOES HAPPEN. not in the way they are trying to frame it but there are doctors that refuse to diagnose or even take care of people with a CDD because they dont believe its real, they think people are getting help for it for a "trend", or "the trauma wasnt bad enough" in their opinion. i literally had someone tell me before i couldnt have OSDD because i didnt go through enough since i literally couldnt remember anything.. IT WAS BLOCKED OUT THATS WHY. endos and their stupidity of trying to make serious situations sound silly is why people are anti endo.

i once was seeing a therapist, it was my first time seeing her while i was looking for someone to help me. i was in an extremely abusive relationship with someone who was abusing the entire system, and under the guise of therapy, i was going to try and get myself to be independent so i could leave the relationship!
the only way for me to get the help i needed was to talk about my system because the abuse was centered around that. so! i tell the therapist "hey so i think i have did and heres why:"
before i could even say why, she shot me down immediately. did not let me finish. held up a finger, shook her head, and said "no you dont, its way too rare" and started talking about the trend of people faking being a system and implied i was doing the same
then when i tried to argue by saying "actually its the same number of red heads in the world, which is 1.5-2%, which is 120-140 million people..." she still argued and then told me our session was over and opened the door and motioned for me to leave.
if she had listened, if she had helped me, i wouldve been out of my abusive relationship much much sooner. but she didnt, because of the way its become this "super cool trend uwu" to be "plural". and this was in the last 10 years!
years later, ive actually been diagnosed with did and its on my record in my dx list with my facility i frequent. so yes, it has happened.

this isnt because of endos
actually this happened before endos were a large topic of discussion its bc of this idea called iatrogenesis which gained a LOT more traction after the internet became the venue we all live on but the idea predates it (1924 vs sometime nebulously in 2010)
this is unfortunately a deep systemic issue with psychology (and other medical fields) as a field and less so something caused by endos

endos are unfortunately a convenient scapegoat is all
oop is misguided to minimize or diminish the medical gatekeeping that absolutely does happen op is wrong to generalize about an entire community and or attribute their existences as non traumagenic (and or mixed) plural systems as mocking or bastardizing "real mental health experiences" and it should be less pathologized actually all mental health should be!!!
clinical diagnoses as they exist today are useful for seeking appropriate care but a logical compassionate and intuitive system of mental health would be less focused on a strict diagnosis and more focused on treatment according to ones needs instead of treatment locked behind specific qualifying symptoms
The idea that a prominent group of fakers is needed for a doctor to deny a diagnosis exists or to refuse treatment is a statement that can only be dreamed up by people who have only ever sought diagnosis for exactly one medical condition. Anyone chronically ill or disabled knows that this is statement divorced from reality. I've had doctors tell me I can't have me/cfs, fibromyalgia, migraines and even that I could not have a slipped disc, because they thought the diagnosis doesn't make sense, didn't exist, the trigger wasn't sufficient or my symptoms were not extreme enough. No one is walking around pretending to have a slipped disc for fun and curiously I had to beg to get an mri anyway, wild isn't it?
Doctors will dismiss you for no reason whatsoever, if you think that you should blame another very small and also marginalized group for experiencing medical neglect, which is a structural oppression, you have completely lost the plot.
