The Drowned “pilot”

This last summer I started working on a project that’s been cooking in my head for a while. I took the opportunity of a school assignment to make the first 8 pages of a hypothetical comic, now called The Drowned.

The Drowned will follow Aconito as she discovers what’s causing her nightmares, what really keeps her bound to her home and what it takes to leave the past behind. It’s set in a land inspired by my own, the northern italian region Veneto, with its fog, rivers and folklore.

Months have passed since I first started working on this project and let me say: I don’t like anything about these 8 pages anymore. The characters’ designs are weak (if not straight up ugly) and the setting is not what I truly envisioned. But! It’s a starting point! There will be more to come in the future.

No, I didn't have any particular theater costume in mind when designing him. My John design is based on Mary statues like these:

And this John Galliano's Dior dress:

I like to mix things from different words when I design a character!

But I do have a bachelor degree in scenography obtained with the hope of becoming a costume maker, so yeah, it makes sense that theater influences what I do!

Overdetailed reference sheet of my dnd character Silvestra bc I deserve to have some fun

Silvestra is an half-elven artificer/gunslinger, currently at level 5. Her main job (after being a devoted lover to her wife Avie of course) is making clocks, but she just got an offer from a peculiar man who promised to help her solve an unfinished business if she accepts to find some stuff for him. And so off she goes! All she wants is to go back to her wife tho (they have been apart for one (1) day now)

She’s my second “long term” dnd character, after playing a sweet young paladin for 4 years she feels like a breath of fresh air. I’ve learnt much about what I like or don’t like to role play with Bonnie, and even tho I still love her deeply I feel like Silvestra will give me the chance to express myself more (= I’m tired of being the lawful good of the party)
