A/N; when your brain's like "Focus? What's that? Never heard of it. Here's this random commercial that hasn't been on tv since you were 11." so I wrote and edited this in like an hour, hoping it would reset my brain while I drink a cup of tea... I don't think it worked.

It was rounding down to the end of Greenie day. The new boy was well and truly trashed on Gally's secret recipe and most of the boys had wonder off to their beds. Those who were left were the more "responsible" ones of the Glade, picking up those that thought the dirt was a great place to sleep or helping Frypan clean up what was left to ensure it didn't rot in the wrong place. And then there were the few others, sitting around the dying bonfire, most by themselves, some in small groups speaking softly about anything and nothing. You fell into the later with Winston, sitting closer than what was considered normal but not touching, not quite anyways. You'd been chatting about random things in hushed voices for the last hour or so, waving goodnight to the others as they passed you. You knew it wouldn't be long before Alby declared it bedtime and smothers what was left of the embers of the bonfire, but you'd take every moment you got before that happened.

You didn't spend much time with Winston, him being the Keeper of the Slicers and you not being a Slicer at all, but he was the first person you truly befriended when you arrived in the Glade. It was an instant connection that you both felt on that rather cold day in the Glade. You both assumed that you had known each other before hand, and some days you wondered to yourself just how close you had been before your memory and previous life were taken from you.

As Winston spoke softly, your eyes closed, losing yourself in the calm and security of being so close to him that you always felt when you were near, deciding to rest your head on his shoulder. He stopped speaking, flinching a bit at the sudden act before relaxing again, turning his head to look at you. "You all good there?" he asked, you gave a little shrug, knocking his arm with your shoulder "just tired." He was silent for a while before whispering "you don't have to lie to me if you want to be close to me." You smiled at this before opening your eyes, seeing he was still looking at you with those beautiful brown eyes. "I didn't know I had to have a reason." you whispered back, smile never leaving your face as he smiled too.

You both sat like that for a while, eventually you closed your eyes again and he rested his head on yours, enjoying the closeness and comfort that this night held as you could faintly hear Alby telling the others to go to bed, hoping he'd be kind enough to leave you both till last, so this moment could last just a little longer.

The struggle of wanting to write an original story with original characters and yet not being able to introduce them in any logical understanding in the first chapter.

I know who they are, I've been imagining them in scenarios for days now, why can't everyone else catch up with my brain waves? 😡😭

Anyway, I posted another chapter of my maze runner fanfic for the first time in eternity, which means I get to reset the clock on how long I can go without posting things again 🥳😅

Gladers are WCKD - Chapter 14

Vince used to say I had a smart mouth that would only cause trouble, Mary said I was clever enough to talk my way through anything, and when I met Jorge, well he told me I should work on my aim. Though I don't think any of them would expect my escape to have something to do with chewing.

It had been a long 24 hours - I'm guessing, I don't have a clock - of nothing since Jeff had threaten and fed me. Apparently, I wasn't interesting enough for anyone other than Clint and Jeff to come and check on, both saying a lot less than yesterday. Though, with all that time I was able to estimate that I was far away from most people, barely any foot traffic coming past my door. So, while being fed my one meal a day - though I'm not sure you can classify the grease trap grit I received as food - I had managed to spit some in my hand when the Medjacks weren't looking. After they'd left, I was able to use it to finally slip my hand free, though it was not without pain and the wonder of if it will lead to an infection later. Putting that out of my head I redressed myself, collected my weapons and waited by the door until I was pretty sure that no one was around. I opened the door only as far as I needed, quickly getting out and shutting it again before finding a dark hallway to hide in. The silence was deafening, but reassuring. I was alone.

It was only now that I discovered that I was in a building that was barely standing, lots of patch work and boarded up windows. Peeking through the boards I was momentarily blinded before seeing what was home base for the Gladers.

It was a large clearing of green land, men meandering around crop fields, sheds, pens with animals grazing, and buildings that were either new or very well taken care of. I couldn't believe my eyes at how they were living, I'd never even seen green grass before, not in real life. but then there was the 30 metre tall walls that reminding me of the wall around the last city and of what Sonya, Harriet, and Aris had said about where wicked had kept them. Must be Wicked's favourite architectural trait. And then I notice the gaps in the walls... my way out.

Even though I knew my odds would be better to wait for nightfall, there's no telling when someone would next come to check on me. Now might be my only chance. I found a boarded-up window on the side towards the back, peaking out of that one you could easily tell it was closer to the wall and not too visible to the main area, I could also see another hole in the wall, closer but easily exposed. I pulled the boards off, which was made easy by the fact that they were rotted out, thankfully since my busted hands ached after a few moments of pressure. I peaked out a little to see if I'd been noticed luckily finding no one around at all, the closest person being around 50 metres away.

The was no cover. there was no waiting around for a better opportunity. It was now or go and get comfortable in my seat. I climbed out the window, took a deep breath, steadied my nerves and ran.

Tumblr reblog chains are in danger.

It seems that the staff is actually going to go forward with their decision to remove reblog chains, where reblogs will basically work like regular comments on other websites.

This doesn't just make the site completely unusable, it removes the soul of the community that has managed to build up here over the years, and that I'm so happy to have recently joined.

It makes impossible the creation of great posts where many people build up a single thing, until it is a gem of expressed human creativity.

There will be no more world heritage posts, no more messing around with your mutuals, no posts worth remembering.

There will be no more Tumblr, and the Tikblr or TumbTube or whatever monstrosity is born from its corpse will soon die, as is probably the best. And then there will never be another place like this on the internet, no place anymore to run to, no more fun, no more community.

I recommend a simple course of action. When these changes get imposed upon us, stop using Tumblr. Get your mutuals' discords, your favourite artists' websites, and leave. If the Tumblr we have once known returns, we well too. If not, better let it die quickly than suffer a long and painful decline.

I beg you to reblog this, for the more people see it, the higher chanses are for this to work.

And add something, so we can show them what Tumblr is really for.

"Kriff! Why'd you leave so many marks?" I complained to Jesse as I tried on yet another shirt in hopes it would better cover the hickeys on my neck, which wasn't even a quarter of them. Chest, neck, shoulder, thighs, random spots on my stomach and back, and that wasn't including the handprints from where he gripped me during our rougher moments. I frowned at him in the reflection of my mirror as he sat mostly naked on my bed leaning against the headboard, hands behind his head and a smug look on his face. "I can still see places where I could put a few more."

"Not funny Jesse. What if someone at work sees these? Do you know how much trouble this could cause me?" I asked him as I put on a new top, adjusting the collar to my liking, just to see that it was that tad bit too see-through. Not that one either. "You didn’t seem like you were having such a bad time last night." He gave me a cocky look as we made eye contact in the mirror, which was hard to achieve since every time I'd take off a shirt, his eyes would wonder. "Well then, I guess we won't be doing that again." I told him in a matter-of-fact tone. Though no part of me was serious I enjoyed watching how fast Jesse sat upright with a look of horror on his face. "Now hang on a moment, no need to make rash decision. It's just a couple of marks, I left some on you, you left some on me. All even here." Jesse said with his hand out, like he was trying to talk me down off a ledge or something. "You could also get in trouble if your Captain found out about all those marks. We should just play it safe and never have sex again." I told him, though now the sarcasm was dripping from my lips as I turned to look at him straight on. The cogs in Jesse's head turning slowly as he eventually gave me an unimpressed look as he realised why I was smirking. Without a moment's notice, Jesse was up, picking me up and dropping me onto the bed, straddling me. The smug look fell off my face as I looked at his devious smile, the same smile that caused this problem to occur in the first place. "That wasn't very nice, making threats." While arousal spiked through me as he made his voice deliciously husky, I rolled my eyes as I feebly attempted to push him off by the shoulders. "Jesse, I have to go to work. Just because you want to have sex doesn't mean we have time." I told him sternly and also annoyed.

There was a dejected and somewhat hurt look in his eyes as he sighed, but none the less, he got off me and even helped me stand up. I quirked an eyebrow at him as I stood, it was unlike him to give up so easily. He let me past him with no tricks as I went and tried on another shirt. When I came back to stand in front of the mirror - finally finding something that would work - he hugged me from behind, burrowing his face into my neck. "Jesse." I sighed with slight exasperation as I gently tried to pull away from him, but he held firm, unmoving. "We're not having sex, and you better not be trying to add another mark." I warned him as I could feel his breath against my neck. We stood in silence for a while, confusion and mild concern clear on my face as I looked at his face in the mirror, though he wasn't looking at me. "If that's how you truly feel, I will never touch you in such a way ever again, I will never blight your skin again. We never have to have sex again if that's what you want, but don't pull away from me. I want to be near you, close to you always. Have your scent on my clothes, have your lip balm on my lips, have your nails scratch up my back and your lips mark my skin, to breath you in with every breath I take. To spend every night entwined with you in such a close intimacy that even the most hardcore sex would look innocent in comparison. Don't take yourself away from me. Don't take your touch away from me. Don't take your love away from me." I was left speechless as he mumbled into the skin of my neck, like he wasn't even telling me but I was there to hear it. He finally looked up, gently moving my chin so his eyes were locked with my real ones and not just my reflection. He tipped my head up and placed a gentle and loving kiss on my lips that lasted but a breathtaking second before he looked deeply into my eyes. "I love you, Y/n."

My doubts about his feelings, my frustrations about my own feelings for him, my insecurities that he didn't feel the same way I did, it all vanished with those four spoken words. "I love you too Jesse." I turned to him properly and we kissed unlike any other we had shared before. Slow, expressive, and full of real love, not just sex. When we pulled away for air, we were both panting but smiling fondly at each other as our foreheads rested together. "The top looks good on you." He whispered to me, and I thanked him with a smile. "Would look even better off you." I smacked his shoulder for that as we both laughed.

"Don’t say anything else, just stay here" (Bruce Wayne x Reader)

You find your long-time friend Bruce Wayne in your apartment one night.

"Bruce?" I asked, very confused as I had just gotten out of the shower. He didn't reply as he sat on my couch. "What are you doing here?" I asked quietly, unsure of why he was here so late into the night, and how he got into my apartment. Though as I walked closer to him and he looked up at me, his face told me that the world was crashing down around him, and my concerns made way for new ones.

"I just… I needed…" He couldn't keep eye contact with me as he stood, seeming somewhat fidgety, which caused more worry to spike up in me. Bruce Wayne did not fidget. "Do you want me to call someone? Alfred, Dick-" He cut me off as he grabbed my wrist, stopping me from going to grab my phone, or stepping away from him. "No!" There was a sudden fear in his eyes as his voice peaked, though I'm not sure what he was afraid of. "No, I- I came to see you. I just, I don't know how to… how I'm suppose to… how do you…?" His sentences ran incomplete as he finally kept eye contact with me, but it was like he wasn't looking at me, as if he was searching for something in my eyes, something he couldn't find. We stood in silence as I waited for him to say something else, his hold on my wrist firm but gentle. Slowly I moved my other hand up to the back of his head and pulled it down so his head now rested on my shoulder. "I- I needed to-" I cut Bruce off this time as I gently shushed him, bringing my other hand around him as he wrapped his arms around my waist and I stroked his hair. "It's okay. Don’t say anything else, just stay here." I whispered to him. He let out a shuddered breath, shoulders relaxing as we stayed in each other's arms. And there we stayed, standing in my living room for quite a while, at one point Bruce started quietly crying but neither of us moved, neither of us pulled away, neither of us acknowledged it.

He didn't say anything else. Not when he eventually pulled out of my arms. Not when he gave me a sad smile. And not before or after he placed a kiss on my forehead moments before he walked out of my apartment. He never spoke of that night, I felt I could never ask him, even with all the questions I had.

"How did you get into my apartment?"

"Why did you come to me that night?"

"Why did you look afraid when I mentioned calling Alfred or Dick?"

"What were you trying to ask me?"

I felt both closer to, and farther away from Bruce after that night, knowing I was his safe place, but I could never ask why he needed me to be his safe place. What could he possibly be hiding from, running from, recovering from that he came to me and not his family?

The enigma that is the mind of Bruce Wayne… how are you both a safety and a fear?
