Hello, I know this blog is mostly fandom stuff, but I actually wanted to talk a little about something going on in my real life. After the passing of my grandfather, my family got together to create a Foundation to help other people. My grandpa was a man who really prided himself on helping others in need, and would always be there to help those in his community.

Now that he's gone, we'd like to continue this legacy of helping other people. So, my family has created a charity to do just that! We are currently setting up a fundraiser for our very first scholarship, and have a lot of big plans already being crafted to get resources to more black youths in america!

Ly'lac, Ly'lac [OBSCURED BY SLIME] of the Final Applause and the pushiness of family.

Lylac is what I will be calling her. Lylac is a complicated kid like every single one, I want to talk about her relationship with the caretaker and other older nymphs. She is a kid in love with older cartoons and a complicated relation with people close to her. She is obviously very loved by her ''family'' but how does she react to that love? It feels to me like she doesn't want to be loved as much as she is. That is a bizarre statement to some people but I can relate to that pushiness. Lylac feels like all her failures even the smallest can be reasons for great sadness. The feel of making all successes as grand makes the failures feel like losing everything. Now something I noticed is how Lylac doesn't like direct affection from the older nymphs and it shows that they don't really care about what she thinks even further solidified with Meemaw taking Lylac to somewhere she absolutely does not want after protecting her. All in all. Ly'lac is great and also a good way to show how kids are people and just because they want love doesn't mean there isn't such a thing as too much love.

Harry is so fucking interesting BECAUSE YOU NEVER SEE ANYTHING ABOUT THIS DORK!!!! OH MY GOD THIS FANDOM SUCKS YOU GET THIS CHARACTER AND YOU DONT DO ANYTHING WITH HIM BESIDES PUTTING HIM IN A BLENDER!!!! Major grievances aside, Harry Anderson Egbert Lalonde is very little actually, is it fair to not see anything of him then? Fuck no. I think just how much we saw him in epilogues and HS^2 and there still being so little on him and about him is incredible. I think that somehow the writers knew how to create the most boring character. And that is by making Harry think of himself as boring. I think that is really what his deal is. He doesn't think of his gender much, his race much. He obviously wouldn't want to be thrown in a vat of acid but he also wouldn't care that much about knowing he would win the lottery.

Harry Anderson, the idea vs Harry Anderson, the man Harry is a kid that doesn't think very much of his life, he appreciates his mom but thats about it really. His way of going through a war seems like life to him is a game that he logs on does daily quest grind a bit and does nothing else. Him being into fashion could be a sign that he allows himself to do anything about himself. He doesn't feel to me like he cares that much about Vrissy dragging him, he's surprised of course but he isn't that bothered by it outside of 'SHIT' when he got zapped out of his timeline by Vriska. To summarize Harry is a character that has so much to show us. Perchance

Homestuck Legacy analysis

Legacy within Homestuck is complicated. It should be a given with the knowledge that Homestuck is complicated in itself but legacy is a big topic. The most obvious case are the trolls which had ancestors with an inversion of what happened to the main trolls in homestuck, while redglare died in the tales of Mindfang from her hand Terezi killed Vriska. Mindfang wished she could have been in love with Redglare once in her journal and doesn't talk about her much more but with Terezi it's more complicated. Terezi went into a depressive state, she entered romance with gamzee and hated herself for it and many of her past actions. Now this is a simple example of legacy I wanted to show, this was started by my thinkings of Dave, more specifically Davepeta and Yiffy. Davepeta and Yiffy are both their own people but everyone thinks of them with a lens of "Dave" through it. The thoughts of those two evolved into thinking about the kids on Deltritus. What legacy do they have to follow or subvert? They are after born around five thousand years after their species was created. They have their own species' society to follow but would that really happen with meteorites happening soon? One could think they have the legacy of Dirk and Rose to follow but do they really? Ly'lac only knows that her species had a creator and Swiss, well Swiss I don't know. Swiss is an oddcase. I think everyone who knew him would describe him as such. So all in all, think of the Deltritans as their own and don't say shit like "Ly'lac is Dave" because it would only look foolish in hindsight.

Omega Kids, the undertalked ones.

Despite the omega kids having existed for 7 years now I still don't see full on discussions on them as often as there should be! I think the fandom has a big problem with new toy syndrome, everyone talks about the new characters for a week and then we go back to the meat crew bullshit. I think wanting to see the influencers back being a "joke" no matter how the poster wants that is a big sign of that. Now this is about Omega kids which are the biggest culprit of that as they are the oldest ones, but they aren't "old enough" to be interesting to talk about and "too old" to be popular. You ever see a mini comic about the omegas interacting with eachother? Me too! Now how many swisstavvys have you seen? I think the fandom thinks of them as accesories currently and I don't like that too much.

Sprite City: A Retrospective

Careful readers of Homestuck: Beyond Canon, the hit webcomic produced by Furthest Ring Studios, may have noticed an errant mention of a “Sprite City”. While at first glance, this might just seem to be a throwaway gag, referring to the technicolor tutorializing ghosts that are the “sprites” of the comic’s worldbuilding, the truth is actually more complicated.

What is Sprite City?

“Sprite City” is, or at least was, product placement for an at-the-time coming-soon soda-themed theme park that FRS was partnered with and receiving a large portion of funding for HS:BC from. As part of this partnership, members of the team had signed a contract to “make fefeta real” (?) in order for her to make an appearance during Sprite City’s opening weekend, with funding provided fully by Sprite City’s parent companies. However, the idea for the project fell through when failure to meet safety standards, due to an insistence from on high to incorporate carbonation into every ride, ended the theme park’s life before it could begin.

It’s unknown whether the plans to unveil a real Fefeta ever came to fruition before Sprite City’s collapse, but the idea that Fefeta was successfully created for the Sprite City project somehow is the subject of multiple urban legends. However, due to the unceremonious nature of the collapse and the confusing wording of the deal, the rights for Fefeta, the character, are highly disputed, meaning FRS is currently unable to feature her in the comic again. This leaves her legacy in a confusing place, forever connected to a promotional stunt that never bore fruit.
