I don’t understand how there’s no Black Widow movie. A little girl being taught to be a spy from childhood. Destroying her youth and innocence and learning to kill. Competing against 27 other girls to stay alive. Being pushed to the breaking point morally, physically, and emotionally. Seeing The Red Room forge her into a weapon. The beginning of her career - assassinating diplomats, manipulating prisoners of Russia, outsmarting SHIELD. Backstory to Drakov, Sal Paulo, the hospital fire, and Budapest. And then a rookie SHIELD agent has her in sight on his scopes. His finger is in the trigger, but he hesitates. She looks scared. She looks tired. She looks like a fighter. So, he brings her in, and takes her under his wing.
From a child assassin to a Russian defector. And they could throw Bucky and Yelena in there, along with Clint and Fury, and maybe even a Peggy Carter/Dottie Underwood Red Room origin story.
Like, who heard that and went - ‘no, I’m gonna go with Spiderman for the third time, and this guy who can talk to ants’?!

Clarke and Wells walked towards their class side by side on their first day of kindergarten. Wells was walking slightly slower than she was and she noticed his hands were slightly shaking.
“What’s wrong?” Clarke asked, there was a slight pause before Wells replied, as if he didn’t want to answer her question.
“What if nobody wants to play with me?!”
Clarke was quick to respond. “Don’t worry, I’ll be here to play with you, silly!”
That seemed to calm him down a little but he still wanted to make new friends. Clarke was his best friend for as long as he could remember, but even then he knew she wouldn’t always be with him all the time.
As they entered their class, they stopped in awe, looking at all the toys and books they’d be able to play with and read. An art canvas for Clarke and a collection of comics for Wells, though he couldn’t read then, he just looked at the pictures.
Just then a dark blur ran towards them, when the blur came to a stop, Clarke noticed it was a boy wearing cargo pants, a black t-shirt, and goggles sitting on his hair line.
“Hi! Are you in this class? My name is Jasper! What’s yours?” The boy questioned eagerly.
“Umm… My name is Clarke and this is my best friend Wells. We’re both here for our first day.” Clarke spoke for the both of them and smiled brightly at the fact it was their first day of kindergarten.
“Oh yay, you both are in my class!” Just then Jasper’s attention was diverted to another boy who came in behind Clarke and Wells.
“Monty! You’re here!” Jasper called out, “I didn’t know when you were gon’ get here!” Jasper raced towards his friend, quick to talk about a new comic book he’s gotten, but Clarke tuned his voice out.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” She was concerned, Wells’ hands were going to fall off, they were trembling so much.
She never knew what he was going to say, because he was distracted by the mountain of Marvel comics in the corner.
Clarke shrugged her little shoulders, and toddled off to the art corner.
She was eyeing the pile of crayons when a pretty green one caught her attention, she reached for it.
Just in time for a slender hand to snatch it a second before she could.
“Hey!” She protested.
A boy, whom she didn’t recognize, smirked.
“Too slow.” He grabbed a sheet of paper and started drawing what Clarke assumed was clouds. They looked kind of like deformed frogs.
“Clouds aren’t green.”
“So? I can do whatever the hell I want!“ The boy replied, Clarke was shocked, she wasn’t allowed to use that word at home.
"You said a bad word…” She trailed off still surprised that the boy had the guts to say “H-E-double hockey sticks”
“What’re ya gonna do about it, Princess. Tattle on me?”
He was pressing so hard into the paper that the crayon snapped. “Oops.”
“Bellamy, are you being mean?” A girl with long brown hair approached. She frowned at the boy, Bellamy. “You know Mom doesn’t like that.”
“Whatever, it’s not like she’s here now.” He stuck his tongue out at the other girl.
Clarke watched them banter for a bit. She was a little upset she couldn’t use the crayon, but there were others. She picked through the crayon bin until she found one almost as nice and was about to draw grass when the first crayon was shoved in her face.
“Here.” Clarke’s eyes traveled from the crayon and up the arm, where she met the dark eyes of the girl who had been fighting with Bellamy. She craned her neck and saw the boy rubbing his wrist behind the other girl.
“Thanks.” She grinned and accepted the crayon.
“I’m Octavia.”
“Clarke.” She stuck out her hand for Octavia to shake. Her mom had taught her manners.
“What are you drawing?” Octavia leaned forward to look at the scene Clarke was making.
“I don’t really know yet.” She kept drawing grass.
“Ooh, draw a tree.” She pointed to a spot on the paper.
“Do you want to?” Clarke handed her a brown crayon for the trunk.
“Sure!” The two girls were oblivious to the world, until the teacher called out, telling us it was time for class.
Octavia grabbed Clarke’s hand and pulled her to where the other kids were seated in a circle. Unfortunately, Bellamy was there. He smirked again at Clarke.
She had never hated anyone before, but Bellamy was probably the first.
Most of the kids didn’t pay attention to anything the teacher was talking about, they were too excited about meeting everyone. All the other kids were chattering about, whispering introductions. All Clarke got from the teacher’s little speech was that his name was Mr. Kane.
The class had the rest of the day for free time since it was only the first day. Clarke sat at the art table once again drawing a picture with crayons. She was so focused that she didn’t even notice when Bellamy walked up beside her with a pair of safety scissors and took a snip at her hair, thus creating bangs.
“I think I like you better like this.” Bellamy smiled cheekily as he held up her strawberry locks.
“WHAT DID YOU DO?!” Clarke shrieked with horror as she stared at her hair that was once, you know, attached to her head.
“I thought you could use a haircut, it was getting in the way of your pretty face.” Bellamy thought he was so clever when he thought of the idea to cut her hair and it was true, with her drawing with her head down all the time, how was he supposed to see her face?
“You… you cut my hair?!” She questioned, as if it weren’t possibly true.
“Yes I did.” He stated proudly.
“Bell!” The two of them both turned their heads at the source of the new voice, Octavia. “What did you do to Clarke’s hair?! You are going to be in so much trouble!”
Clarke sat there with flaming cheeks, processing the fact that Bellamy had just cut her hair and called her pretty.
Mr. Kane banished Bellamy to the corner for a timeout. He had trudged slowly to sit in the little time out seat, and every so often would glance back at Clarke.
Octavia pulled a strand of Clarke’s hair.
“Ouch!” Clarke looked reproachfully at her.
“Sorry.” She didn’t sound very apologetic. “I can fix it.”
“Nuh uh.” She pulled her hair away from the other girl. “No one else is cutting my hair.
“Here,” Jasper ambled over and before the two girls could do anything, he put his goggles on above Clarke’s head. “You can wear my goggles.”
“Thanks.” She wiped her nose with the back of her sleeve.
“Kids, it’s time for lunch!” The teacher clapped for attention. Everyone stopped what they were doing. “Wash your hand in the sink at the back of the class.”
Clarke trotted off to go find Wells so they could eat their lunches together. Clarke’s was packed in her green lunch box with tree designs and Wells’ Iron Man one.
“C’mon Wells, I want you to meet some new friends I made!” Wells was excited to meet Clarke’s new friends, but he thought what if they didn’t like me?
“Everyone, this is my bestest friend in the whole world, Wells. Wells, this is Octavia, Jasper, Monty, and… Bellamy.” Clarke gestured towards each person as she made introductions but paused before she got to Bellamy as if she were reluctant to introduce the two.
Bellamy did steal her crayon and cut her hair but he did also call her pretty, she supposed that made up for it a little bit.
Wells took a seat next to Clarke which also happened to be next to Jasper.
Jasper unpacked his lunch and just as he was about to get his Scooby Snacks, a small hand swiped them out of his reach. It was Octavia.
“Ooh! My favourite! Can I have them pretty pretty please?” She begged Jasper for the gummies, which also happened to be his favourite lunch time treat. Jasper started to blush, he was talking to a girl, he was starting to wish he had his goggles back.
“Umm…” He stammered. “How ‘bout half?” He suggested.
“Okay! Thanks!” Octavia then did something Jasper was no where near prepared for. She leaned in and kissed him on the cheek.
“What… What was that for?” Jasper managed to stutter out, his cheeks felt like they were on fire. No one had ever done that before, well except for his mom of course.
“Well because I like you, silly.” Oddly, he liked it when Octavia called him silly “You’re gonna be my new boyfriend, okay?” Octavia stated while reaching for his hand to hold.
“Uhh… Okay…” Although Jasper didn’t exactly know what it meant to be someone’s boyfriend, he thought it couldn’t be anything bad right?
Octavia was quick to tell the rest of the table their exciting news, she was jumping up and down in her seat waiting for a chance to cut in through the chatter of the group.
“Jasper is my new boyfriend everyone!” Octavia clamored over the aimless chitchat, she had become impatient and decided to just blurt it out.
“Wait, what’s a boyfriend?” Clarke questioned. She was confused on what a boyfriend was because Wells was her friend and a boy.
“A boyfriend is what I am gonna be to you someday.” Bellamy eagerly responded, though he too didn’t know much about being someone’s boyfriend, he knew it must be a good thing. He had overheard some of the older kids talking about boyfriend and girlfriends while walking to their classroom.
“Wait just a minute, you want him to be your boyfriend?! None of us really know what a boyfriend is!” Bellamy suddenly realized what Octavia was saying. He was surprised and was just trying to protect his younger sister, she was after all the runt of the family.
“Yes, I do Bell. He’s a boy and he’s my friend. Boy-friend, duhhh.” Octavia was quick to defend herself. She hated whenever her older brother would question the things she did. Bellamy wasn’t that much older than her.
“You’re such a dummy.” Bellamy retorted.
