I just want to get married, ASAP, so sick of being alone and single all the time at my age 😭😢😿💍👰🏼♀️💒🥰🥂
most important thing to remember about being a woman is if youre married you have to go under the covers with your husband and laugh cutely and play wrestle so when you die to progress the narrative he can remember it in slow motion montages
in this world we all have our roles
Dead wife flashbacks but it's real shit married people do.
Her: I am 100% sure there is a delay function on the coffee maker.
Him: and I'm sure there's not. I'm telling you I looked. There is no button for delay.
*after the fifth time they've had this discussion and she finally bothers to look up the manual to prove her point*
Him (following the directions from the manual): Goddamn it there is a delay function on the coffee maker.
Her (doing a weird dance): Vindication!
*He laughs and pulls her into a kiss*
*during the climatic scene the husband is fighting the villain in his own house and it looks like he's going to lose*
Him: you may think you have won but I know some you don't know.
Villain: and what might that be?
Him: there's a delay function on the coffee maker
*there is an explosion from the coffee maker behind the villain (the husband filled it with gas). It allows the husband to get the upper hand and win the fight. As he walks away from the burning house finally ready to move on and start living again. He turns back and whispers to himself*
Him: Vindication

the rubber duck
For anyone curious what they mean by the rubber duck, rubber duck debugging is a tactic used by programmers to figure out bugs in the code. To do it, they explain the code, verbally, line by line, to the rubber duck until they find it.
It’s also very useful for writers, and I’ve used it multiple times with rubber ducks, stuffed animals, and my friends.
“when i say it out loud i realize where the stupid was”
I literally cannot count the number of times I’ve gone to someone and told them ‘I can’t figure out what’s wrong with my story, please let me explain it to you’ and that was all it took. Sometimes they ask helpful questions like ‘did you remember to feed them’ or ‘so is this all on the same day’ but other times I don’t even need that, it just figures itself out as soon as I try to explain it to someone else.
It’s one of my go-to pieces of writing advice. You’re stuck on your story? sit down and tell me/someone all about it.
babe. I know we’re all going thru a lot rn but I just wanna give u the heads up that sesame streets future is in jeopardy. hbo has chosen not to renew it for new episodes (a series that has been going since 1969) and the residents of 123 Sesame Street no longer have a home :(
n all seriousness sesame street is such an important piece of living media. it has been around for DECADES and from day 1 highlighted the importance of diversity empathy and education for children in a fun way. their mission statement is “Helping Kids Everywhere Grow Smarter, Stronger, and Kinder”. it’s been such an influence for so many people at a formative age. it’s creators made it w the intention that it could be a resource for underprivileged kids and help them prepare for kindergarten. thousands of people have learned english from our friends on sesame. pls (at media corporations) don’t let a beloved cultural phenomenon die
I am not taking a risk
Not risking it pals
U know what I want potato of luck
Damn right I’m reblogging. See previous post re wrath of whatever from high atop the thing.
The pumpkin man sits inside the pumpkin house. Is the house made of flesh, or is he made of house? He screams, for he does not know ....
Happy Halloween/Samhain! 🎃🏚️👻👿
For years I would look at posts and questionnaires about neurodivergence that takes about being so focused on something that you forgot to eat and be like, "Couldn't be me. Being hungry is so uncomfortable! Your stomach is growling and cramping? How do you ignore that?"
Then someone informed me that neurotypical people have a whole bunch of "hungry" sensations before they get to that point.....
They what
Yeah, I don't get it either, but apparently this is a Whole Thing.... Like they somehow detect blood sugar dropping and go, "Ooh, time for lil snack!"
See also: there is a feeling of "oh, I need to pee" that happens before "fidgeting around in my seat to finish this thing before running to the bathroom"
I read this and was like, "this can't be real" and then I looked for sources and like--
Adapting Intuitive Eating for Neurodivergent People
"This can be very harmful for neurodivergent people, as many neurodivergent people struggle to feel internal cues and bodily sensations, including hunger and fullness. An emphasis on “only eating when hungry” can result in neurodivergent people delaying eating until they are so hungry that they are shaky, highly irritable, or even on the verge of passing out. A focus on “stopping when full” may cause neurodivergent people to overthink every bite they take and scrutinize whether they are truly hungry or truly full. To modify Intuitive Eating for neurodivergent people, it may be important to focus on eating enough and eating consistently throughout the day, rather than eating according to one’s hunger and fullness cues. Neurodivergent people may need more of a structured meal and snack schedule than neurotypical folks in recovery, as well as some guidelines around a minimum amount of food. This does not make their eating less intuitive or their recovery less real - it is an important way of honouring their body’s needs and unique ways of functioning."
WHAT??????
what the fuck
I love my job, but reblogging employment jelly for someone else I love.
I enjoy the work itself, but I struggle with the people and with the structures of the institution.
Can the employment jelly help me keep my job, but also help my colleagues find jobs elsewhere that will make them happy?
