All Too Well is written almost entirely in alexandrines, a style of French poetry that consists of 12 syllables in a line, with a caesura (break) around the sixth syllable. Stress is on the sixth and last syllable, with secondary stresses in each half. Breaks in that style are used for emphasis or rhyme. It needs to be autumn to fit the phrase.
