Hi, I'm Nero, sometimes called Crow, I'm still new to Tumblr. Most shows with overpowered supernatural characters always try to come up with elaborate excuses to explain why the characters can’t just magic themselves out of every situation. Good Omens doesn’t really do that, but you don’t really question it because you completely buy that these morons are so unequivocally incompetent that they straight up forget that they have the powers of fucking demigods. They’re like high-level d&d characters who only use the same three moves and have completely forgotten about the 73 magic items sitting in their inventory.

I cannot express the effect this post had on me. I read it aloud to my roommate and she burst into helpless laughter because it had never occurred to her that Crowley could do anything to get to Tadfield but drive the Bentley. It absolutely never had occurred to me, either. We both have been reading, rereading, and loving this book for about a decade now.

As much as I hate "diagnosing" ocs, or canon characters, I have always strongly felt that Crowley is intensly ADHD coded with mild sprinkles of BPD (not bipolar-!). And I just like that.

The amount of unhinged conversations I have with a certain person that I will not mention for their own safety /j (you know who you are) keeps me up at work. That and the fact that Duke Crowleys only piece of proper clothing he wears is a damn necklace with his wedding ring on it.

Recontextualising "I forgive you"

The more I write this fanfic the more I think about the way "I forgive you" is used in the show etc, and how extremely adverse the reactions of everyone are toward it (including Crowley). Aziraphale is shown many times to "forgive" people he cares for, or generally likes, including Maggie. Them saying "I forgive you" to Crowley isn't a way to shame Crow for the kiss, or to imply they did anything wrong, but a way to tell them that Aziraphale loves them no matter what they think, do, look like, etc. Forgiving is an angel's holy duty. It is what they do, it is beyond justice, or guilt, forgiving is how Aziraphale LOVES. Crowley's love language is complicated too but ahkfjha ramble over for now. Must continue writing.
