Im hoping the topic of Dehumanization in the form of treating a corpse like an Animal being Vivisected comes across well. Its a bit of a hard one to portray. Scientific novelty is something I'm pretty passionate about considering the position I'm in, where the patient is treated both like 'a person' as well as a subject to be studied- especially when the cause of the novelty was man made rather than an abnormality caused by something outside of their control.

Theres a power outage thats expected to last a few days, and while trying to keep myself entertained, i found this.

Note the publishing date and how worm-eaten the cover has become. I have to go through it slowly, its quite fragile....

The magazine makes its bias known from the very beggining, just from this section alone. This was to be expected-- national geographic is and always has been a product by and for white men from the imperial core. I only have these because my grandpa collected them for the pretty photographs. When he died we stored most of them in my room.

I do think they couldve been a bit more subtle about it though?
