PS ; as this is a personal list coming from a Palestinian person, i will only be adding the movies and documentaries that i feel are MOST important and effective in transferring the message of the Palestinian cause… so all recommendations are highly appreciated yet this is just a personal list and doesn’t include all types of Palestinian (or Palestinian related) visual media 🙏
I’m in love with neon lit cemeteries of Iceland.

i think one of the most interesting things about jean vs neil is that neil is so incredibly used to lying, that being able to cover up his past and the stuff that’s happened to him comes fairly easily, he only finds himself wanting to be honest because he cares about people
jean on the other hand, has never had to lie. he’s never had to speak to anyone worth lying to. so all of his secrets come flowing out of him unprompted after a certain amount of provocation
jean was taught to keep quiet, not to lie. and even then, his skills at denial and silence are put to the test when he has to face more people who ask questions than he ever has before.
every one of jeans secrets was revealed by himself. he doesn’t know how to keep it in when someone actually cares enough to keep prodding. :(((((
terms that jean uses for neil in the sunshine court:
tiny bastard
tedious malcontent
abominable cockroach
wretched little runaway
neil’s insistence on hiding his scars for as long as possible bc he knows it’s not normal and the foxes Will stare and ask questions vs jean just stripping in front of the trojans bc he expects his teammates to ignore his abuse since it isn’t their business... neil flinching from wymack's loud voice bc he doesnt trust men old enough to be his father vs jean holding his racquet out for rhemann to hit him after "failing" to do what he said he would do because he expects to be beaten to a pulp by his superiors and because "contrition, coach"... it makes me sick!!! i need to wrap them up in a warm blanket forever
ok but can we talk about the most insane line in this whole book
neil in aftg can pass off as like… Almost borderline semi-normal kid who’s found himself in insane circumstances when rlly all he wants to do is play a crazy sport because he looks at andrew’s problems and kevin’s lack of spine and riko’s entire existence and he does believe he’s almost borderline semi-normal. just a paranoid liar bc his dad wants to murder him. then u see him from an outsider’s pov and he’s damn near psychotic arranging a hit on someone while on a lunch date with his gangster uncle and the guy who taped his skin back together after continuous torture not even a year ago and he does it without breaking a sweat while stringing up a series of lies to feed to the FBI. character or ALL time
i’m sorry about kidnapping your boyfriend so we could give the fbi false testimony. yes, i tried to feed him, he thinks thai is too fattening and wouldn’t have any. i also put out a hit on his rapist
OKAY OKAY here we goooo an annoyingly long-ish post about all my thoughts on The Sunshine Court
Spoilers Spoilers Spoilersss you've been warned
thank you for TSC @korakos, we are eternally grateful
“Everyone who has tried to tame him has failed.”
poor wymack is traumatized by neil's terrible clothing
