Fringe - Fringe Newspaper

This year Staffordshire University is holding it’s first ever Fringe Festival, an event that will run along side the degree show with various events going on around the university. I was asked to design the Fringe Newspaper that would be handed out at the degree show and posted to houses around the area. In total 5,000 copies would were printed and will feature news stories including Fringe events to be held. The concept was very simple, as it still needed to have a clear understanding of a traditional newspaper, but with a minimal colour palette and design. My work on ‘Annual Report - Web World, Spiders and Insects Society’, a university project was also featured in the newspaper.

'Web World - Spiders & Insects Society'

The task was to design a an annual report for a given society. I was given this one.

The front cover was screen printed varnish and then cut out, to reveal the effect of a spider web in the light, when the book was moved.
