The Godskin Prayerbook makes me think that maybe… long ago, the Godskin Apostles actually tried to spread their faith.

But after Destined Death was sealed, most people came to view god-slaying as nothing more than insane heresy, and eventually, it became a taboo topic altogether.

Even worse, believers of the Golden Order learned to crack the Apostles' language, using it to sow discord among them, manipulate their words, and attempt to brainwash them with Golden Order dogma.

After such bitter lessons, the Apostles shut their mouths and went completely silent.

Whether out of devotion to his lost faith, the pride of ancient nobility, or simply protecting the surviving cult… Azrael will never speak to anyone outside his order.

…Except to Mirok, he just looks like a baby who hasn't learned to talk yet.

To be fair, when Mirok first arrived in the Lands Between, she couldn't speak the common tongue either. So to her, it only makes sense!

So here we have an outsider with a thick foreign accent, dead serious, teaching a local native how to speak the language of his own homeland.
