This soup tastes like summer is here! Kitty, my sister helped me out and actually cooked it, because I have so much to do this week! And tomorrow Iâll be even going to Vienna with a friend!! Iâm super excited, I wasnât able to travel abroad inâŚtoo many years probably :P Aaanyway, letâs see that soup recipe!
Creamy sour cherry soup
Ingredients:
1 1/2 l water
300-400 g fresh sour cherries
one cinnamon stick
1 tsp allspice
1 tsp cloves
4-5 tbsp sugar or to taste
2 orange slices
175 g sour cream
Method:
Wash the cherries and remove the stones. In a saucepan combine the water, cherries, spices and the sugar. Add the oranges and cook it on medium heat. When the cherries are tender add some of the hot soup to a bowl and whisk in the sour cream. If itâs free of lumps, pour it back into the soup; let it boil again. Check the taste, add some sugar or more oranges if necessary and take it off the heat. You can serve it right away or chilled. Easy, right?
Have fun cooking! xoxo, Pearl

Trend Obsessions No.6 â Kimonos Now this is a summer trend I can get behind! Love-love-love! I want a dozen! Or two!
Sounds a bit unusual, right? But I promise this is a delicious pasta dish; another one of my nanâs oldest recipes. I loved it as a child; but to be honest I loved every single pasta my nan made! I got always super miffed, when she tried to cook me store bought onesâŚIf you donât have the time to make the pasta yourself, you can of course buy something as a substitute (like a tagliatelle or papardelle, I think).
Pasta with caramelised cabbage
Ingredients:
Pasta:
500 g flour
4 eggs
little bit of water
Caramelised cabbage:
1 medium sized cabbage
1 onion
2 tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp pepper
about 2 tsp salt
2-3 tbsp vegetable oil
Method:
If you decide to make the pasta at home, you can check out this earlier post about home-made tagliatelle! If you want to, you can cut it up any way you like, but I tried to make little triangle shapes, like my nan always did :) So, cook your pasta in boiling salt water and put it away. Onto the cabbage; use a cabbage slicer to shred it to little pieces. Chop the onion finely. Get out a pan (be sure itâs big enough for all the cabbage youâre using!) and pour in a few tablespoons of oil. Heat it up. Add the sugar and caramelise it. Add the onion and cook until opaque. Season with pepper and salt and add the cabbage. Stir well and then cover it with a lid and let it cook until itâs tender. Pour a small amount of water on the cabbage and stir it occasionally; just to make sure it doesnât burn. When itâs done, check the taste, season if necessary and stir in the pasta. Done!
Have fun in the kitchen! xoxo, Pearl

Monthly Recap: May
Itâs officially Summer!! Yay! Not that you could tell looking out the windowâŚjackets and rain and windy weather does not actually scream âSummerâ to meâŚLetâs hope weâll have some nice sunny days soon! So, letâs have a little look-back at May!
This month was a bit recipe heavy on the original post-front; but I really enjoyed making all these yummy dishes. Remember these orange-chilli flavouredâŚ

Hello darlings! May is almost over, can you believe it? A lot happened this month and there are a few posts Iâm really proud of; like the Moroccan iced coffee pictures I took with my new phone! Blogging and keeping up with the â100 Happy Days Projectâ is so much easier now! Iâm still trying to readjust things around the blog, so that it can be more useful and inspiring; and also to keep it inâŚ

Moustache Mix: (Salted) Caramel Recipes Had to make a batch of caramel this morning, because the heavy cream I had in the fridge was in danger of going bad.
Go and check out the wonderfully simple and airy artwork of Yoko Tanji! There something unique about her works that I canât put into words; but it makes me feel like when I first started watching Japanese films and got acquainted with their culture⌠itâs a good feeling :)

Today was so~ much fun! Went shopping with sister #02; she is such a sweetheart, she got me a new mobile! We also went and picked a certain video game, that launched just today⌠:P And this iced latte is the âŚicing on the cake; it was good to have something cool in the afternoon while working. About that; Iâm slooowly replacing all the broken images in the older post. I will eventually manage, I think. Now, on to that lovely Moroccan latte!
As many things I do, this is a âsimplifiedâ recipe; I found a bunch of tutorials on how to make Moroccan tea, but I decided not to use any of them. Firstly. there were about 2245 versions on making this tea and never mind how hard I try, Iâm not Moroccan, so I probably would only make something that resembles it. Secondly, I can appreciate things being made the traditional way and I usually enjoy it as well, but sadly we donât really have the luxury to spend an hour on something that can be done in 10 minutes. Which is a pity, if you ask me, but hey, brave new worldâŚIf you have the time to prepare this drink with a traditionally prepared mint tea, feel free to do so! (And maybe tell me how it tasted? :))
Iced Moroccan Mint Tea Latte
Ingredients for one cup:
100 ml strong coffee
100 ml boiling water
2-3 sprigs of mint
1-2 large tsp sugar
milk
mint extract (optional)
ice
Method:
Brew the coffee and leave it to cool. Add the mint and the sugar to a cup or mug. Boil some water and pour it over the mint. Leave it to steep  I had to cheat a bit and add one small drop of mint extract to my tea, because it was just notâŚminty enough. When everythingâs cooled down, put ice in a glass or jar. Add the coffee and the tea. Top it with milk and add a few mint leaves; they make such a lovely decoration! Enjoy!

Hiya, how was your weekend? We had a great birthday party in the garden on Saturday and had a lazy Sunday; it was quite fun! And now Iâm enjoying my day off! Well, by âenjoyingâ I mean that Iâm working on things that are not work-related :P Like these brooches! Have a peek!
And now Iâm running back to the work desk, before the acrylics decide to dry on meâŚHave a lovely day! xoxo, Pearl

Trend Obsessions No.5 â Sweatpants one // two // three // four // five Sweatpants! Tailored sweatpants! I'm quite happy that trends like this (and harem/pyjama trousers and whatnot) exist; I like skinny jeans, but sometimes I could use a "day-off" and still opt for trousers of some kind.
Waffle time! I wanted to make something savoury for dinner that was not a sandwich, so waffles it is! I opted for some cheesy ones and I popped in some chopped up green onions as well. Why not? Here is the recipe:
Cheesy waffles with green onions
Makes 6-8 waffles
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 large egg
1 cup milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup grated edam cheese (or any semi-hard cheese you like)
1 green onion
a pinch of pepper
Method:
Beat the egg with the milk in a large bowl. Mix the flour with the baking powder and salt in another one. Mix the two together. Add the oil, the pinch of pepper if using and the finely chopped green onion. Lastly, mix in the grated cheese. Heat up your waffle iron and bake them until golden brown. Bon appĂŠtit!

Happy weekend everyone!
Well, this week was, if anything, underwhelmingâŚthings concerning the blog just arenât going the way I want them to. Up until a point it was good fun; lately it became mostly stress; Iâm trying to go back to the fun part :)

Weekend Variety No.08
I decided to merge the semi-usual âweekend varietyâ and last Fridayâs non-stress weekend post. The âmoustacheâ is giving me enough headaches as it is; with all the images missing and scheduling being messed up and whatnot. Anyway, soldering on!
Never mind the confetti-fun; I felt the need to make a ton of them. Maybe I should find a way to use them up; Iâve always wanted a confetti bowllike thisâŚ
