that comment about how you should not borrow grief from the future has saved me multiple times from spiraling into an inescapable state of anxiety. like every time i find myself thinking about how something in the future could go wrong i remember that comment and i think to myself: well i never know, it might get better. it might not even happen the way i think it will and if it does happen and it is sad and bad ill be sad about it then, when it happens. and it’s somehow soo freeing
I need this reminder today.
horses cant scratch themselves but humans cant go fast. we support this legandary partnership
Wrong! Humans irrelevant and obsolete now

the mexican football team has a 17 yrs old player and one of the funniest outcomes of this is that he cannot appear in any ad for gambling or drinking so he only appears in candy and milk advertisements. his first world cup and he's not even legally allowed to drive. his nickname is "morita" (little berry). he's three apples tall.
they couldn't put him in the beer campaign so he was represented by a bunch of berries
Stealing this from twitter but I liked the concept: put in the tags where were your 8 great-grandparents from (given modern borders) ?
US people: Oppose terrible proposed rule threatening EVERY SINGLE FEDERAL GRANT
This rule does not just affect scientists or universities. It affects the programs that millions of Americans depend on every day, including Medicaid, Head Start, school lunches, housing assistance, food banks, and community health centers. In FY2024, the federal government sent $1.1 trillion in grants to states and communities. Every dollar of it would be subject to these new rules.
The proposed rule would:
• Allow political appointees to cancel active grants at any time, with no meaningful appeal
• Require grant programs to align with the President’s policy priorities, not scientific merit or community need
• Embed prohibitions on DEI activities as material breach conditions in all federal awards
• Ban research into health and economic disparities
• Allow denial of grants based on an organization’s affiliations or views deemed ‘un-American’
• Restrict science communication and public health outreach as ‘issue advocacy’

All this discourse over who does "painting with light"
Hiroshi Nagai's paintings need sunglasses to look at.
They look like how it feels to walk across a parking lot on a 98° summer day without a speck of shade in sight.
They look like heaven but also like you'd burn your bare feet on the ground.
Even when you can see shade you know it's not enough and the minute you step out you'll be burnt to a crisp like a vampire.
And it's BEAUTIFUL
I'll throw in the wonderful Eizin Suzuki into this ring too, a man whose work just breathes light without actually using dynamic lighting in the usual way. It's no surprise both Nagai and Suzuki are both considered prolific in art pertaining to the city pop genre because they're able to paint these kinds of scenes with a delicate touch.
This feels like I could trip on that radio and fall right into that water, feeling the crystal waves as I drop in.
And this, a nice stroll down a resort strip, where my sunscreened skin could literally feel cooked if I leaned too close to the tiling.
And then a nice stretch of summer street, wherein you could see your face in the flushed red of that car provided it didn't blind you from its sunny reflections.
I don't think I even need to say anything more, Suzuki's a massive influence in how he even places colours so warmly in such unorthodox manner. It's a naturally sunkissed talent~ 🌊
