I think that the main difference between Elriels and Gwynriels has always been this:

If you ask an Elriel how they became an Elriel, the answer will ALWAYS be 'I read the books'.

If you ask a Gwynriel how they became a Gwynriel, the answer will be 'I saw online...' (even their beloved bonus chapter--unless someone online told you to read it and told you that it even exists, you wouldn't have known).

Acotar 6 & 7 are the SAME story/book - just different volumes. So there’s no separating them into one characters story over another. Sure, POVs may be added, but turning it from one persons pov solely into another persons pov is extremely unlikely! It’s the SAME book, just split because no glue will hold it!! 🩷💙

Every now and then, a Gwynriel rises and decides to play the victim card of innocence and pretend as though its *just* elriels being toxic in the fandom not knowing, every single side can point fingers.

Gwynriels have doxxed countless of people and have sent threats as well.

”elriels spammed BB” funny how they face memory loss every now and then. Wasnt it Gwynriels spamming the BB comments w “gwynriel emojis” weeks after the post all because an elriel pointed out how when you go to comment under a BB post, the elriel emojis are suggested…yh thats right. It was Gwynriels.

Wasn’t it a gwynriel that took an elriel fanart and replaced Elain w Gwyn? And if I remember no gwynriels called them out yet when an elriel that was clearly a fandom troll (they had 0 posts and no connection with any of us elriels - the account just popped up one day) posted an AI abomination of Az r4ping Gwyn, it was elriels that immediately called that person out, warned other elriels to block and report that account. Absolutely no elriel found it funny or supported that freak in any way.

Antis have equally threatened Sjm and elriels as well. A gwynriel joked about killing off elriels and mind you - when an elriel posted about using TT to “kill” gwynriels as a joke - who was it that called them out? Elriels.

As far as I am aware, no elriel is invading any anti space unless its on tiktok which is a free for all unless explicitly stated otherwise. And the elriels that do accidentally invade other spaces are the ones that arent invested in the fandom.

A popular Gwynriel doxxed an elriel. No Gwynriel called her out. A gwynriel quite literally created a Pinterest account for the sole purpose of negativity commenting under elriel fanarts. No Gwynriel called her out. Did any Gwynriel call out the person that decided to use a lyric about children been sexually groomed for a fanart? Nope. Putting that all aside: How about the antis going on reporting sprees for elriel fanart so much so elriel month got shadowbanned? Which caused the gwynriel weeks mods to be so paranoid that elriels would retaliate that they blocked every elriel when their weeks had 0 issues in the past because elriels minded their business? The list obviously goes on and on, but the point here is it’s literally childish, stupid, oblivious and juvenile to paint one side of the shipwar as toxic when every single side has had their toxic times. You can literally go back and forth, pointing fingers over who did what. No side is innocent.

God forbid elriels share, in the elriel tag, about personal individual experiences of getting bullied from antis.

Hard Truths the ACOTAR Fandom Needs to Accept:

1) Elain’s book is next.

2) Elain is rejecting or unmaking the mating bond

3) The ACOTAR 6 love triangle is Elain-Azriel-Lucien. SJM writes books that focus on the FMC’s journey. She will never have two women fighting over a man 🙄 Be so fr

4) The Inner Circle are not written to be villains. If you don’t like the main characters of a series pick up a new one.

5) Nessian is endgame, Nesta is not going to end up with Eris (quit pretending it’s anything but fanon)

6) Elriel has more foreshadowing than all the other non canon ships combined

I could keep going but you get the point…

Feel free to add because I’m tired of people ignoring blatant foreshadowing and misconstruing canon text.

Friendly reminder that Gwyn being Azriel’s mate has never been confirmed in canon. So when you remove the fanon... what’s left? A theory. Nothing more. So let’s stop pretending otherwise.

If Elriel/EL/GA were ships for some other romantasy series, I could easily see Elriel coming out as the most popular ship/most likely to become canon and everyone recognizing EL/GA as red herrings. So I always found it odd how this wasn’t pretty obvious to the acotar fandom when the groundwork has already been laid out.
