I love how well these archetypes are defined too. Harry Potter is a child soldier and an Auror. Henry Evans is a time traveler. Hadrian Peverell is the Master of Death. Lord Voldemort is an unshakable evil. Tom Riddle is a chance for another path. Marvolo Gaunt is a redemption.

Tom doesn't know Harry at all until he's notified there's fiction being written about him and upon reading out of curiosity he's appalled by how he's written with this Harry person. Obsessive, possessive and downright smitten, as if he would ever waste his time on someone like that. Which leads to him finding out who Harry is only for him to end up interested in the exact same ways in the fic.

Prompt again :D Give me horrified Harry who is being held by Voldemort. Like "Oh my god this man/monster/dark lord is touching me" But then "Someone is finally holding me. why hasn't anyone ever held me like this? It's not fair."

And he is just so conflicted on what he should do because most of him is just terrified and confused and there is a small part of him that is aching to stay in his arms because he might never get a chance like that again. He gets so little shows of affection and when it happens he usually flinches away anyways because he isn't used it.

Give me a Harry STARVED for paternal or just affection and give me a Voldemort who absolutely knows and uses it against him.

12yo Harry writing to Tom in the diary at night, finding comfort in him and telling him all about his time at Hogwarts. Tom learning about Harry and finding, to his displeasure, that he's becoming attached. Harry goes to Tom when he's frustrated and sad, Tom is always there when Harry needs him.

Harry begging Tom to help him save Ginny when he gets to the chamber. Tom's expression twisting with just the slightest amount of guilt before it smooths over again. Harry feeling guilty throughout the entire fight.

Harry looking up at Tom and whispering "I'm sorry" right before he stabs the diary with the fang. Harry crying as Tom disappears, crying as he leaves the chamber, crying as he glances back and wishes it could have gone another way. Harry crying but refusing to tell the adults why because Tom made it clear to him that no one else would think Tom could be saved.

Harry pushing the guilt away and away in his mind for years as he goes through Hogwarts, unable to reconcile Dark Lord Voldemort with the image of Tom Riddle.

Harry getting the locket from Kreacher and opting to wear it most because it affects him the least. Or at least, that's what he tells Ron and Hermione.

Harry wears it because when he puts it on, it feels like a missing piece of him slides back into place.

He caught them before they could go any lower.

"Beast." He spat.

Lord Voldemort laughed softly into his ear and spun him once more.

Harry didn't know how to dance, didn't care to either and in this ballroom where everyone twirled elegantly, not an inch out of step, he was distinctly out of place.

"Are you embarrassed?" The monster holding him in his arms asked him, fingers adoring his rosy cheeks.

Harry scowled at him, "I am too busy thinking of ways to kill you,"

Why should he care for the impression of the rest, when he was the lone human in den of monsters.

Lord Voldemort abruptly dipped him, drawing a gasp out of him, letting him stay and swallow his unease at the undeniable proof.

The huge mirror on the wall showed no one on the dance floor but Harry.

Fingers trailed down his neck, dextrously unfastening his tunic and slipping under-

"Must you?" Cold breath blew across his nape, making him shiver, "Why can't you accept your role? By my side. In my arms." Harry flinched away at the soft lick to his carotid.

"You slaughtered my family," He gasped out.

Voldemort snapped him up then, too harsh, too tight, Harry's fluttering heart close to the other's dead ones, "Let me breathe new life into you then. Compensate you, for what is lost," He crooned.

I absolutely love whenever people compare Tom to a magpie. That boy is kleptomaniac and niffler at heart. He sees something shiny or something that has immense worth and he absolutely has to have it.

And Harry Potter? A powerful good looking fierce halfblood with gorgeous emerald eyes and a clever streak miles wide who never knows when to give up? The one who encases/encased a shard of his soul and is a parselmouth?

Our boy never stood a chance not to collect him. He lost the game before it even started.
