haiiii. in light of the captains skill in their card. spoiler alert. thank you to @danieyells for their card skills!

their skills in the finale cards. all of them have terminal/the limit of thank you to danieyells for these! jin's is terminal mistrust alan's is terminal vengeance haru's is terminal transience taiga's is terminal thirst suba's is terminal secrets ed's is terminal seclusion and finally, yuri's is terminal hubris to highlight here, what does terminal mean? there are multiple meanings, but i think what they're referencing here is

terminal adjective (EXTREME) extreme, when referring to something unpleasant or negative: ex: She claims that the shipbuilding industry is in terminal decline. UK He has nothing to do all day and is suffering from terminal boredom.

which oh god. jin distrusts people which considering the background he was raised in makes very much sense. alan wants revenge for his father and wants to discover more. haru- transient- the quality of being transient- temporary? idk? referencing his super speed? or maybe him. what he is. he changes alot, from the thief&master lockpicker to this caring, flirty and nice captain of jabberwock and what ab his past? istg if its referencing him changing when he goes for his internship and not relating to towa and ren anymore or jabber in general i will cry. taiga's hunger for everything. he eats alot. suba holds alot of secrets. its in the nature of him. after all you need to keep secrets when your in the limelight. and now its in his psychic powers when he sees the past that were never meant to come to light and the missions he was sent on by darkwick. ed is seclusion. which is a state of private and being away from people. i feel like it has tinges of nihilism; when he knows the end of the world is coming and lived for a long time, when hes seen the cruelty of the world, he intentionally tries to space away from most people, to avoid being hurt when he loses them, because when he was younger he lost alot of people. and finally, our prodigy yuri. hubris- excessive pride of confidence, and it was used in greek tragedies as a cautionary tale. (okay first rui's flaw, his humanity. its like grrek tragedies of heroes) now where do i think his inspiration of this? achilles!!! achilles refused to fight because of his pride!~ and then he lost patroclus. bc patroclus fought in place of achilles!!!(this better not be a reference to yuri losing jiro i refuse. or jin/frostheim tbh. but patroclus fought and died in place of achilles, and I've only seen jiro fighting for yuri so yeah~) but anyway yuri has this and probably a messed up childhood. (also hes kinda fallen? child-prodigy coded) also the jp name: submerged in the ashes of the light of ideals. we can take ashes literally in as jiro dying, or the mort students leaving him, or the frost thing. thank you for listening to my mad rambles.
