Hey, sorry I've taken forever to get to this ask! The migraines.
But! Looks like we've got an altocumulus stratiformis with, in my opinion, a pretty high chance of nimbostratus altocumulomutatus. It's definitely nimbostratus back there, I just also reckon it's formed from the altocumulus. Also there's stratus fractus clouds.
day 20! i really loved working on this one- the umbrella had a clear vision in my mind... didn't execute it perfectly as i had less than a day. regardless, had a ton of fun with the colours, hope you like it too
Hello! I have the autism that makes me really like clouds.
My top 3 favourite clouds are:
1. Pyrocumulus (ties into my volcano interest[see: autism])
2. Cumulonimbus (Big guy!!)
3. Mammatus (looks like boobs [funny])
Feel free to tag me in some cool clouds so I can identify them for you. Or send in some home-grown ones if you'd like. Especially if they're my favourites, or yours!
Also, I have a small resource list located here.
Putting the tagging system under the cut.
For ease of access, I've been tagging each cloud genera, species, type, supplementary feature, accessory cloud, and special cloud separately. That way, if you want to look at a bunch of lenticularis clouds, you aren't stuck going through so many tags.
Tags, and descriptions, are as follows:
#identifying clouds is just my name!
#not an identification is for the very few times something isn't clouds!
#cloud corrections is for when I get something wrong, and someone tells me! Please tell me if I get something wrong.

i saw someone's theory that Gerry's brain tumor was actually an eye, because his ancestor was Albrecht von Closen, who died and the autopsy revealed he had many eyes inside his body and?? it's so genius??
honestly the world is so lucky I will never be a time traveler. I'd legit go to some random village in 1339 or smth and be like.
"Hi there, so you know the 7 deady sins and 7 heavenly virtues yes? Well let me introduce to you the 14 fears :)"
And each time I'd go in a cloak with slightly different properties. One time I would go with very gentle eye patterns with a few eyes painted on my hands with some elias bouchard jewelry, and others I would go covered in dirt and with a shovel on my back and each time I would look like and tell tales of each fear until I became a myth of some weird lady who'd tell you of the world with eyes and claws and knives and doors and holes and skies so blue and-
I feel like as a fandom we do not talk about MAG 163 enough, out of all the episodes that is the most bonechilling one. Yes, the other Slaughter episodes talk about war and meaningless murder, but they do not highlight the same. The do not point out what each person feels nor how they view the enemy. And the bagpipes and gunshots playing throughout the episode? I do not usually feel the fear to my core during episodes, but this time it was so raw and real. Especially with everything happening right now in the world, that feeling of hopelessness that encompasses you, that lets you know that wars will keep happening again and again and nothing can stop the deepest and most primal instict of humanity to kill. Johnny really outdid himself here
By which i mean im very much Not listening to the magnus archives because ive reached mag 111 and am in devastation and moving on from this would require the sort of mental and emotional fortitude i cannot offer.
theres such a potent melancholy in this like. Your whole life you deal with eldritch fear monsters and your response is to become paranormal pest control saving lives. Because you didn't have the chance at a normal existence ever. Didn't have a chance to make friends without worrying about attracting disaster just by being there. So you make sure it doesn't ruin other people's lives. Make sure they continue living and smiling and Going On. I need to pipe murder Mary keay gOd it's horrible
ANS GERTRUDE FRICKEN ROBINSON
That book holds so much trauma for him and you Did That. Just let him rest?? In peace????? Spent half his life burning books and he's going to have the same fate like ok yes that's good writing if im analysing it in that way. Irony or whatever. but WHY. Just. It's like there's forces in the universe keeoing anyone from being happy. Oh WAIT. *flips table*
AND HES SUCH A NICE PERSON LIKE GENUINELY. SARCASTIC DEADPAN FUNNY HELPFUL TIRED. So so relatable. Hes so likable as a person, as a character, and from the start we knew he was dead and still its just aughhhhhhhhh. Despite it all, because of it all even, you cant help but get attached
Everyone else rouched by the fears tries to make it other people's problem. Jane prentiss, Michael crew, Michael Michael (dont get me started on him yet ill just itch to pipe murder gertrud agAIN), everyone losing their humanity and thwir conscience and hes here CLINGING to it.
And we still know so little about him. We knew so little about him. Hobbies, favourite foods, nothing. He died so young and it was so MUNDANE and numb and GERTRUDE WHEN I CATCH YOU I SWEAR.
Hospital bed is the worst worst worst place to die. Not getting torna part or eaten or disappearing into the fucking earth or sky ate you or whatever. Hospital is the worst. Place. To die. And god its all engraved into his fuckigb skin for eternity. NOT THE STORY OF HOW HE LIVED, BUT HOW HE DIED. thats just fjcked up. He did so much. He was so much. He could have been
Thats the part of the End or the Death or whatever thats so vile to me. Erases everything vibrant that ever was about this soul and leaves. Leaves what. Leaves nothing behind.
Jon better keep his promise. Gerry deserves peace after everything.
Im barely coherent this has me going feral i wanna hug him so bad. He was so alive, is the thing. He felt here and present and vibrant. He lived, once.carved out space for himself in this cruel universe to exist the way he felt was best. But he isnt. And he's Not, anymore. And all thats left is skin and ink because they couldn't let him go in peace. And it hurts because grief always hurts and this is a fictional character why am i tearing up.
