How to interact with a service dog
Don’t.
That’s it.
This has been a PSA
i dont get what this post means
service dogs are doing a job and usually people want to pet them but then theyll interrupt the job the service dog is trained to do. so the rule of thumb is dont interact with a service dog unless the owner says you can
YEET idc I’m petting the dog anyways
Okay, well.
You shouldn’t pet strangers’ dogs without asking either.
In Boston while waiting for the T, there was a woman with her service dog in full gear also waiting. Two young women went right up to the dog and the moment one of the women reached out to pet the dog, the older woman slapped her hand away and said “My dog is working, do NOT pet.” And I smiled because those young women were in the wrong.
If you came up to my dogs and didn’t ask to pet them, I would slap your hand away, and they’re not even service dogs.
If you pet my service dog without permission, you are stopping him from doing his job.
One of my dog’s jobs is detecting seizures. He gives me a few minutes warning. If he can’t warn me because he’s distracted, I could fall and hit my head.
I could die of a head injury because I wouldn’t have time to find a place to sit and sit down.
But, hey, a stranger gets to pet my dog.
I guess that’s worth it. /sarcasm
Would you go up to a disabled person and interfere with their wheelchair? Would you nudge a blind person’s cane? Interfering with a service dog is no different. You’re putting a person at risk. Service dogs are not pets. Leave them alone.

I mean it’s just smart to not go up to strangers dogs. If someone tries to pet Liam, no matter how cute and small emi’s, they’re going to get bitten.
A service dog is going to be better behaved but just do not! Don’t! Don’t touch other people without permission, don’t touch their children, their tools they need to get around, or their goddamn animals. Keep your goddamn hands to yourself and if you’re that set on forcing an interaction, ASK.
choose people who choose you.
This is from Julie Plec the executive producer of TVD doing damage control on why they killed Noralise. Yes, sure like we’re that stupid to believe you for not knowing ahead how Noralise’s fate will be. (Damage control but failed just like how Jason tried for Clexa)
I am so tired of showrunners saying that they didn’t know about the Dead Lesbian trope.
If you are a showrunner and personally are not a member of the minority community as one of your characters- black, Asian, Latino, gay, female or whatever- it is your responsibility to find out what the stereotypes are so you can avoid them and what the history is for that representation so you can understand how your show/characters are contributing to that history.
Research the shit out of that stuff. It’s your JOB to educate yourself about the media that you are producing and the representation you are writing. This is what you are getting paid to do.
I will accept that excuse in a dialogue with fandom. But showrunners I hold to a higher standard because you are CREATING media and adding to what is out there.
Do your fucking homework. This is your job.
^^^
Seriously film studies in gender 101. I’m tired of these “oh we didn’t know, our bad” excuses.
It’s totally disingenuous and i find almost impossible to believe that no-one in the room knew about it.
Ohh they knew about it, she has to say it like that because they piss off the Clexa’s fandom and the fans are doing something about it. This is just damage control to make sure they don’t piss off another fandom or the lgbtq community but too bad with all the lesbian deaths in their shows, their tactic of calming the community isn’t working
Shouldn’t we be boycotting the whole CW network? Jane the Virgin, The 100, The Vampire Diaries, and previously Arrow (and I am sure there are others).I know we are going after advertisers, but instead of asking them to withdraw from the 100, we should be asking them to withdraw by the CW.
they.
are.
lying.
they know the Dead Lesbian trope. That’s WHY THEY USE IT.
the U.S. media is propaganda. it’s not something that just happens bc oops our bad, we were too stupid one day, or violent, or misogynist. it’s why the only lesbian writers at the top are also part of the dead!lesbian perpetuation, or erasure, or queerbaiting, or just mockery.
and yes, boycotting the CW, it’s come up during the trends. we should go forth and utilize that one. BOYCOTT THE CW should be easy to trend at this point on a thursday evening.
an actual human bi woman having a relationship with a man because she wants to which is her right because she is her own independent thinking feeling person is, weirdly enough, not the same thing as straight writers killing off a fictional bi woman’s girlfriend in order to pair her up with a man, and this isn’t doing any favors to actual human bi women
I don’t understand why people don’t get this.
Fellow White People
When I see this:
All I can think of is this:
do u guys think clarke wouldve said i love you too if lexa hadn’t choked down the “thats why i love you”
im so mad replies ate my thing before i was done.
what i was gonna say it. what if lexa had said it. what if she hadn’t caught herself in time and it had slipped out and she’d honestly looked so ashamed and sorry and guilty at putting clarke on the spot like that. honestly looking as though she’d like nothing more than for a hole to open up in the floor and swallow her whole. bracing herself for the moment when clarke dismisses her. when clarke rebukes her. looking down. looking away. looking anywhere but at clarke, blood running cold with dread in her veins, cheeks cherry red in her mortification.
do u you think, that when clarke stepped closer and took her face in her hands to coax her to meet her gaze, lexa would have started to cry? when clarke “hey, no, lexa stop, it’s okay,” she would have shaken her head because how awful of her to say it out loud. after everything she’s done. how unfair of her to put that out in the open.
i mean. clarke knew. in a way. she knew but she didn’t know and when lexa said it, it was not unlike someone turning on a light in a dark room. it was not unlike her first breath of fresh air. her second first breath of fresh air. lexa loves her, and everything makes sense.
do u think she would have taken lexa’s face in her hands and thumbed away the tears? tipped her head back up? do u think, “it’s okay. you’re okay. i love you too.”
He doesn't deserve his job or title. Like I said on Twitter. I say float him. Hold a contest for fanfic writers and chose a few to work alongside the cast to create the rest of the show. That would be the way to go in my opinion
Fanfic writers!!!? That good?
We're fantastic! Just sayin. (some of us even get published. Of course we have to change the character names but ya know....)
Get knocked down , get back up
what would lexa smell like
i’ve always thought of lexa having different smells. there’s *lexa* and then there’s *heda*. heda smells like woodsmoke and aged leather, like the stiff, unyielding armor she wears mixed with the musky, heady, almost-sweet scent of wood burning over an open fire. the smoke from the campfires seeps into her clothes, into her skin, into her hair, until clarke starts to associate ‘fire’ with 'commander’.
and then there’s lexa, freshly bathed and showered and hair loose and expression open, who smells a little like a blend of those, soft, warm summer flowers and spring blooms and maybe a hint of lavender if she’s planning on braiding her hair that day, maybe a hint of spice if she’s been down to the market, and just something that’s her, something beneath the surface that can’t be linked to any other smell but just her own, unique scent
and maybe clarke gets so used to that scent she can pick it out under anything, the flowers, the spice, the leather, the woodsmoke–even blood, when lexa comes with her armor soaked and clinging to her skin with blood that’s not entirely hers and clarke peels it off of her and there’s the metallic twang of stale blood in the air but clarke can still smell her underneath it and
excuse me i’m emo
Delete this. Im emotional.
Which ‘The 100′ character are you?
a) the dead lesbian
b) the tortured bisexual
c) the dead poc
d) the tortured woc
e) the dude who can do any shit that he wants and be forgiven
Dead Tortured Lesbian Woc.
# what a beautiful creature tbh
He died in chains and fell into mud. Jason Rothenberg, a white man, in power, who disliked Ricky, actively decided to televise Lincoln thrown in the mud, shackled and brutally shot. No regard for how history has treated POC’s and black men and women alike. Lincoln and Ricky, the kindest and most gentle men. Disrespectful and so nauseating it hurts to breathe.
I’m bisexual, so it’s like, my representation is still alive on the show in the form of Clarke. However, believe me or not, I take no joy in being represented that way. I take no joy in watching Clarke suffer all the time, having every boy and girl she likes/loves taken away from her or being almost beaten to the death.
If that’s how you want to represent me and people like me, then seriously, you can take it back and bury it in your backyard, because it’s a piece of shit.
if javi really wants to make up for the cluster fuck that was t1OO he’d cast Eliza as the new Gabrielle in the xena reboot
FAAAAWK YESS ID BE ALL OVER IT.
TV IS A VISUAL MEDIUM. HOW YOU FRAME THINGS MATTERS.
You know, I can’t help but think about the framing of things, comparing the 100 and Underground. I’m not going to post pictures because it’s triggering as fuck, but my goodness, the differences between the framing of Adina Porter’s character, Pearly Mae, and Ricky Whittle’s character, Lincoln.
Two black characters, on their knees, looking down the barrel of a gun, sacrificing themselves for the people they love as said loved ones looking on from afar.
And yet on Underground, Pearly Mae’s hands are up and she’s begging the white man not to kill her in front of her daughter. Adina pointed out that it was deliberately positioned with hands up as a homage to Ferguson. There is nobility there, but there is such an awareness of how their show fits into the current cultural landscape. Chris Meloni’s slave catcher character pauses, and there’s conflict on his face, because his own kid is watching not just Pearly Mae’s family, and something in him stops him from pulling the trigger in front of his audience. The horror is underscored by his reluctance and we don’t need to see the violence here to get the message.
Meanwhile, over on the 100, not only are they having another black man holding the gun, feeding into the Black on Black trope despite the fact that Pike is supposed to be an allegory of post 9/11 bigotry against Muslims (which ???? but whatever) – the show deliberately sensationalizes Lincoln’s death. His hands are shackled, the gun goes off, everything is in slow motion, in graphic detail, and his body is filmed from above, splayed out, bleeding out in the mud from his head.
Did we need to see that? Why not just cut to Octavia’s horrified reaction? Why did we need to see that level of detail? Do they not realize how harmful that image is, of a helpless (PEACEFUL) black man on his knees being shot execution style by an authority figure? In the world we live in, THAT is the image they decided to go with. And multiple people signed off on that- from the director to the showrunner to the studios.
I just…
It baffles me how tone deaf this show is when it comes to how they think they can just film things this way and think it’s okay for KIDS to watch. Do they think we need this in our society?
THEIR RACISM KEEPS ON SHOWING AND THEY THINK IT’S OKAY JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE DIVERSE CAST?????
MEDIA DOES NOT EXIST IN A VACUUM. HOW YOU FRAME THINGS VISUALLY MATTERS. WHAT YOU WRITE MATTERS.
How many times do we have to say it? How many foreheads do I have to staple it to before they will finally get the message?
To everyone who does not understand why Lincoln’s death is a “social justice issue”. We expected Lincoln to die, we were prepared for it even, because Ricky gave us so many hints it was kind of a given.
It is the way he died in a time when black men are being killed left and right in very similar ways. It was the fact that it was so graphic. It does not matter that it was “honorable”. Lincoln dying defending Octavia would have been honorable.
There is a visceral reaction to seeing a black man, shot in the head, while chained, kneeling in mud, that you can only truly understand if you are black. It is a call back to the Slave days, the Civil Rights Era and even worse a call back to today. To Jordan Dunn, just listening to his music, Mike Brown with his hands up, Trayvon Martin, walking home with his tea and skittles, Freddie Gray in the back of a police van and Jamar Clarke, who was just trying to get help for his girlfriend.
Please stop telling minorities who are reacting to things that actually affect them in real life that the way they react is wrong. Please do not ignore our feelings and our words.
