I've seen headcanons about Cardassians eating spicy food but learned recently from watching videos about peppers by the guy who bred Pepper X and Carolina Reaper that apparently only mammals react to capsaicin by perceiving it as "heat," it doesn't affect other animals that way, so actually that would make it even funnier - if Cardassians are reptilian enough they can't even process spicy foods so they're eating these mega spicy peppers and it's just whatever, and then like, Garak makes some food with it for his dear doctor and Julian is like what the FUCK did you put in here, get me some water NOW (funnier: Dukat also tries to do this to Sisko at some point for Reasons but Sisko's years of experience with Cajun cooking give him a much higher tolerance)

Thank gd for Avery Brooks man. Ds9 wouldn't be half the show it is without him. Yes because of his magnetic and dynamic performance as Sisko but arguably more than that his role in creative direction and shaping the story and Sisko's arc. The finale, for instance, would've been so much worse if not for Brooks's insistence that Sisko promise to return to the station one day. And there's a thousand instances like that. We owe him EVERYTHING!!!

I love data's little poker visor so much, I love how it tells you about him as a character beyond just being cute to look at: data goes above and beyond to emulate and replicate human behavior and will dress to follow those expectations by the book even if they arent actually the norm. If he's playing poker, then he's going to wear a poker visor because thats what you do, even though no one else is wearing one. I just love data ok
