concept: Lal drops something and goes "fuck!"
everyone stares at her in horror. the number one suspect? Lore, of course. everyone turns to him, demanding an explanation.
the sound of another object shattering on the ground catches everyone's attention. "ah, fuck," a familiar voice says.
again, everyone stares in horror.
Data. Lal was imitating Data.
LISTEN. I put this movie on thinking it would be a fun, cozy Friday‑night watch but NOPE. Instead Brent Spiner’s FACE showed up like a divine omen, knocked the wind out of me, and immediately demanded tax.
And those EYES. THOSE. EYES. swoon I swear to the GODS they have their own gravitational field. I had to pause and relearn how to breathe because what do you even DO when someone looks like that on screen.
And don’t even get me started on his stupidly beautiful, softly‑lit, cowboy‑hat‑framed FACE — the one that looks like it was carved by Grecian deities specifically to destroy the female population using nothing but a weaponized profile and a Cupid’s dart. WHEW. Had me pacing my apartment like a Victorian aunt who just witnessed a scandal, fan and ALL.
Meanwhile the academic part of my brain is filing a formal complaint because there is no universe in which I was prepared for 1986 Brent Spiner to be this beautiful. Frankly, rude. sobs I curse the timing of my birth being AFTER this era of Brent. “Father, I love him.”
Tumblr, I am asking — with respect, with reverence, with mild hysteria — HOW were you all just sleeping on THIS.
Those eyes should come with a warning label.

I just recently got the start trek tng brainworm, so have a fist full of datas. I haven't drawn him before today, so he may look a bit janky, but I think they're not too bad for my first tries!!

here's some lore
it hurts considerably to watch lore take apart all of the exact things data struggles to feel confident in about himself. he didn't just call him stupid, despite the wealth of data's abilities, he didn't call him ugly, he specifically targeted data's literal executive function and woes about his ability and limits.
it's painful to know data struggles with things like masking overall, understanding humor, verbal communication, and social expectations, only to have lore telling him he does it all perfectly and far better than he can, on purpose. data is supposed to be lesser, made to be lesser. oh if only he'd let lore help him, he'd finally learn and understand it all; data is literally so, so much more wise than lore realizes in this moment.
