Coffe Prince episode 7 (ish)
It's coming up in my feeds recently. There was a documentary about it or smth. So started watching it. And I'm torn.
The innocent me from 20, even 10, years ago just assumes it's another variation on the theme of a girl who doesn't know how to be a girl but in the end she will learn to be feminine, everyone will split into couples and live happily ever after.
The slightly more aware me would be SO annoyed if this ends tjis way. Eun Chan has both mother and sister who are very feminine. It's not that she doesn't know how to be a girl, she doesn't want to. And the thing is that everyone loves her for being the way she is.
The situation for now doesn't feel like what Save thd Cat calls "Fixing everything the wrong way." Nothing is wrong. It's fine. The only time anyone needs an update is when finally someone wants to take her to bed, and it doesn't feel like this is happening soon.
Also, there is an obvious policule forming. This doesn't feel forced or fan wishful thinking. This just what is happening. Especially the look on Yoo Joo's face , that was without mistake "this is who I was waiting my entire life".
Well, I'm still in the middle and I'm dreading the next episodes.
Episode 15
Well, as expected the couples are getting more defined. I'm disappointed, but not surprised.
Eun Chan is wearing a skirt.
But, here is something I love about this. And it was foreshadowed, so I'm not surprised, but they could weir away from it easily.
Han Kyul is actually in love with her the way she is. He is not trying or expecting her to change. In his fantasy in bed she is wearing, pink and purple, definitely a man's shirt. She is still silly and agressive. When he goes to buy her a ring, he is offered a bunch of "these are rings that young women like" and he goes "but she is not very feminine, my girlfriend " and buys something that fits her. Not what she is expected to like based on her age and gender. They really do deserve a praise for this!
