This stress reduction significantly reduces maintenance costs and increases burner longevity. - The burner eliminates 50 percent of low turndown burner purge cycles, significantly reducing boiler heat loss and resulting in less fuel wasted and lower carbon emissions. The 2018 ALS Association Conference

As a result, the ALS Association is hosting a training session for youth from 8 to 18 years old that will focus on speech, nutrition, and durable medical equipment, among other topics.

You want the center of gravity (middle of your body) to be behind the ball, not in line with it.

Front foot should point outwards a bit

The club should hit the ball on the upswing, not the downswing like an iron

Children’s Educational Opportunity Foundation Scholarships

David Bohn serves as president of Preferred Utilities Manufacturing Corporation. A resident of Redding, CT, David Bohn supports and works with the Children’s Educational Opportunity Foundation of Connecticut. Founded in Bridgeport in 1995, the Children’s Educational Opportunity Foundation of Connecticut also operates in Hartford and New Haven. Over the past 20 years, the foundation has provided approximately 8,000 scholarships to help children receive equal access to quality education. Each year, about 400 scholarships cover half of each recipient's tuition, up to $2,100, with the student’s parents paying the remaining balance. The foundation’s history has demonstrated the success of the scholarships. For instance, over 75 percent of recipients performed above expectations for their grade level, and as much as 96 percent of recipients have enrolled in higher education. To be eligible for the scholarships, students must reside in one of the three areas and their household incomes must fall within 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines. Issued on a first-come, first-served basis that can be renewed each year until eighth grade, first-time scholarships are open to students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Boiler Dry Firing Incidents

Bi-Annual Meetings of the American Boiler Manufacturers Association

Preventing Dry Firing in Boilers - Stack Temperature Monitoring

Mr. Bohn advanced quickly at the Connecticut-based company, serving as a New England district sales manager and vice president of sales before ascending to his current job, company president. Today, David G. Bohn oversees development of automation equipment for industrial- and commercial-size boilers, as well as the manufacture of other equipment used by power-generation plants, industrial and commercial facilities, and institutional campuses. As steam plant operators focus more and more on automating their boilers and other equipment, they must place greater reliance on control systems that ensure efficiency and safety. Today’s advanced control systems come with features that help reduce the risk of dry firing, which may destroy an industrial boiler in a matter of minutes. One common feature of modern controllers is stack temperature monitoring. Stack temperature monitoring calculates boiler efficiency and also acts as a safety measure when the boiler’s stack temperature becomes too high. The stack temperature is usually set about 100 °F above a boiler’s saturated steam temperature of 450-550 °F (depending on operating pressure and other variables). A stack temperature cutoff set to 750 °F will generally not produce false alarms, although it will indicate a boiler with a water-feed supply issue and allow enough time to shut the entire system down.
